My first Mac setup using kit I already have will look to get it better in the future.

The iPad is a 2020 iPad Pro which I could not sell when upgrading, I use it now just for playing music through my HomePod its also connected to a smart plug which charges it up every night so never have to worry about no power.

I love Universal Control one mouse to rule it all!

M4 Mac mini, paired with Apple Magic Keyboard 2 and Magic Mouse, both in orange. Not visible are 2 Sabrent SSD enclosures, both with Crucial P3 SSD's: one 4TB for my media, the other 2TB for my photo library. (I have two WD MyPassPort drives (not pictured) for backups of everything! Also have an LED light strip under the riser, so has a nice glow in the evening...

Drawer is organized using Shadowfoam (photo from earlier this year before I added the riser to my desk). Underneath the keyboard are the two WD MyPassports, under the black acrylic square are all my plugs and cables etc.

Nice cosy corner to work in!

Mac Mini M4 base model with LG C2 42". 4k120hz, HDMI CEC, its great!

My Magic Mouse is one I got with my 2011 iMac! Still works like a champ (iMac too). Magic Keyboard has lightning port, so it is older model as well.

On the side, MacBook Air M1 is admiring my newest family member 🥰

Nice setup! Any issues with text clarity or scaling with the LG? I'm thinking of going this route from my 2 screen setup for music production with my MiniM4 Pro. Thx

No issues! I use BetterDisplay app and 1440p HiDPI scaling. I am sure 5K monitors looks better text clarity wise, but this is more than good enough for me.

Love the cable management in this second shot! Who makes those brackets? They can be slid to fit any size, or mounted just for the size item they are holding? Thanks!
Thanks! They're just universal brackets from Amazon.

They're three separate pieces so they can be configured for multiple devices as long as they're the right height. The one I'm using for the Mini can accommodate devices up to 3" tall. The Lenovo one, 1.5".

Do you have any fear of burn in? I see you hide the dock to assist with that. That is probably the only thing holding me back on using OLED for a monitor.

I hide both the dock and the menu bar on my C4, though it’s probably unnecessary. I used a C2 as a PC monitor for two years without any sign of burn in. Gave it to my daughter to use as a TV and she’s had no problems.

Good to know. Thanks.

My dock and menu bar are hidden and moving wallpaper/screensaver also kicks in after 1 minute being idle. MacOS collection of moving wallpapers is perfect for OLEDs.

After 2 years I have no problems. Some people (like Digital Foundrys Richard Leadbetter) have used CX48 almost 4 years for daily content producing without problems.

Thank you! I *really* like that setup - super clean and gives more desk space. And the brackets are quite affordable. Awesome! Thanks again!

@Ephram You seems very close to the screen. How do you feel with it ? And why do you choose a television instead of a pc display ? Thanks for your reply.

Sorry for the poor quality of the photo but here's my setup:
tempImageIqf87s.jpg

  • M4 Pro Mac Mini
  • BenQ 27" monitor running 4K at 120Hz
  • Logitech MX Keys S Bluetooth keyboard
  • Cheap Logitech M85 Bluetooth mouse I had on hand
  • Crucial X9 ProSSD drive used for Time Machine
  • LG external Blu Ray read/write drive
  • USB-C to four-port USB-A hub
EDIT: Removed the duplicate photo.
