this has to be my favorite setup, I have been thinking about downsizing to a setup type like this, but not so sure if I want to move my iMac away.

thats very similar to the setup i had.

i went from a 20" alu iMac to a 13" uMPB set up similar to that and i havent looked back since. my imac kinda just sits in the closet collecting dust right now.

The one thing i do wish i had though was an external monitor for watching the masses of movies and tv shows i have.

sell the imac, buy an external monitor, upgrade the ram and hdd of you mbp. this way you have a very capable desktop and monitor when your at home and have that same power in a portable solution when you need it.

Do they make that without the glass? I'm kinda reluctant of putting my C2D iMac on a glass table/desk. Much prefer wood.
Not that I'm aware of. I was reluctant to put the 27" iMac on it, but the table is actually extremely sturdy. The glass is about half an inch thick, so unless you put a 50lb computer dead center on the glass, I think you should be okay.

You're controlling two machines? Why not just use teleport and cut down to a single keyboard.

I use teleport to control my desktop and my Macbook Pro and it works beautifully.

No, I'm actually controlling one machine with two keyboards. It allows me to utilize the arm rests of my chair more comfortably.

I was originally planning on going with a split keyboard, but I didn't like any of the options.

Here's a blast from the past, that's me circa Oct 1984 going to Engineering school.

My 128k Mac, yes that is MacPaint (gotta be version 1.0?) you see onscreen. I used it and MacWrite for report writing, MacBasic for programming.

This was a self-portrait I took for one of my "fun" non-engineering electives, B&W Photography. I developed this photo myself in the "real" chemical darkroom.

<snip>

I love the composition here. I really do love the look of real film, it adds so much warmth and depth do a shot.

Cool pic. Did you have to take the light bulb out of your lamp there for the pic? haha. :p

Very nice setup!
Thanks!
That is the loveliest wallpaper, mind sharing a link?
Thanks :)
Sure :) Link
I've been thinking of having a setup like that, placing my MBP on a stand with a wireless keyboard and mouse.
Is it comfortable?
Yes! I highly recommend this if you use your notebook at the desk.

nice setup but wheres the 24" iMac that you have listed in your sig?
I sold it for one of the new revs (the 27" iMac i ordered :))
I have to update my sig again.

Heres my old setup before i sold the imac:

Well how much does the 27" weigh in at? My 24" C2D iMac is about 35lbs.

Meh.

WOW! Incredible. Something about this photo I like, unsure if its the Mac within it or the Mac & the history behind it.

Rarely see photos developed by chemical in a dark room,
Rarely see Floppy's these days, I personally haven't seen one since 2004, although my 2 PC's still have the 1.44" slots,

I'm curious if you still code in your spare time, and what Mac you use now?
Did you ever move over to Windows (for work or personal use or both)??

Actually the bulb should have still been there.

For me, I was learning darkroom basic techniques at this time also, which always intrigued me and was fun to do/experiment with.

I had played with the stuffed bear be during the shoot, in/out, besides that this was my real college study table exactly.
