Well this used to be my setup at home:
DSC_1830.JPG

Although that has now moved to my uni house, and was replaced with this basic, but awesome computer :D:
IMG_0191.jpg

My room at uni now has this setup:
P1010969.JPG

24" iMac 3.06Ghz, 4GB ram with a Samsung something something 'floating' display. Bose Companion 5 speakers, 2x1TB Western Digital My Studio's linked to each other and one to the computer and a 500GB My Passport.. iPhone 3GS 32GB on xstand and the new Logitech Performance MX (I broke the MX revolution ), and a 15" MBP 2.8GHz.

P1010970.JPG

Samsung 26" LCD TV, connected only to the PS3 and sound comes out of the Bose speakers. PS3 is giving up the ghost, every month or so YLOD's, although my fault because of the stupid places I put and it overheated. The Bealtes Rockband drums.

P1010971.JPG

HP PSC6280, ethernet printer connected to the network, on the other side of the room.

Setup has a ton of wires which I haven't bothered tidying up as I am only living there for about 8 months. The setup it self isnt really that amazingly laid out because its only temporary, although luckily the table that came with the house is massive. Must be about 180cms end to end, so I can fit all the screens on with not much of a problem.

Hows college? Do you have fraternities and whatnot over there? I graduated from a small school back in 2000 - I never joined a frat but thought about it. Strangely I always put academics first before hitting the kegs. Or streaking... Perseverance, Ritalin and usenet porn got me through my four years!

How are you liking your IKEA Jerker desk? I have the same one, they are excellent desks.

Yeah its pretty amazing. *Looks up fraternity* In the UK, I don't believe there are fraternities. At my university there are societies, which range from computer societies and fencing to sports and big food society - which is awesome . You don't really need to go through any 'initiation' just to be part of a group. I am not sure whether other universities have as many societies, since I know some dont have any. Although I think it's a bit strange for a students union to not have many student activities.

It's a fairly steady table. As I said it was already here when I moved in. But it appears to be very strong, and I am surprised it's IKEA stuff, seems to good quality

I always saw the fraternities as buying friends. The only problem was, once I graduated when I would run into people who graduated before be they asked if I was in a frat... and probably helped them find jobs. I love favoritism.

I found this picture posted here somewhere but does anyone know what usb hub that is on the back of the monitor. I circled it in black.

i received an email from the OP in the other thread regarding this hub and you can buy it at http://bit.ly/99PeoQ. looks like you can use it powered or not powered. don't see anything about shipping to the U.S. so us stateside folk might be out of luck. the OP used double-sided tape to adhere the hubs to the backs of his ACDs.

edit: after googling for a domestic supplier, i found the same hub available in the U.S. http://bit.ly/bzAeJj

Seconded. eMacs > iMac G3 in terms of design.

I think they are both awesome. My favorite g3 is the Snow Slot loading. Too bad the eMacs didn't have slot loading drives but then I guess they would have gotten rid of the awesome shiny apple on the disk drive bezel

So far my setup includes 3 Mac minis, white MacBook (Not pictured), eMac, Power Mac G4, iPhone 3G 16GB, MacBook Pro 13'' with 8GB RAM :D i also got a 50'' Samsung Plasma screen for an Apple tv when i get round to it, so far I use one of my Mac minis until then. Sorry about the size difference lol

Amusingly, the Ikea Jerker desks (I have 2) are ridiculously sturdy. Easily hold the weight of two adults sitting on them with 0 problems.

They're very simple designs, with welded nuts & allen bolts to hold it together.

I've had mine for 3 years, and they're still as solid as they were when I first assembled them.

They unfortunately no longer offer them, or I'd add a 3rd to my collection.

Although these are monitors and not 2.1, the M-Audio AV40s are black and sound quite nice. Look it them.
