that's an awesome view! what do you do for a living and are you leasing that place or own? how many square-feet?

Thanks, I like it.

I am only in Chicago for a year for work, so I am renting, then I am going back to the East coast. I probably wouldn't own a condo in this particular building if I were purchasing, though. It's a 1358 sqft. 2 bedroom.

Both. I work from home full time (My home address is actually listed as my "work address" in my company database) but it's a great setting to get work done.

You're a first. I have a similar setup, in front of my balcony and I can't really get any work done at home. :( I either need to head to the library or to a coffee shop. Big windows and computer screens are distracting. :) And my view's much worse than yours.

I've been working remotely for the past 4 years or so. I'll admit it did take some time to get used to, but I can't live without it now. About 3 months ago I started to try to get more face time in one of our regional offices and ended up never getting anything done. I find I can focus much better in my "own space".

Sure!

Here is my direct view off the balcony. I took this a few minutes ago as it is a beautiful day out. Wish that highway wasn't there, though:

Also here is a really cool photo I took one night after a storm (No editing). This is my view to the right:

Trump is a weird guy but he makes some seriously awesome buildings.

Such nice views! I wish I can work at home 24/7 like you ...

6-year-old iPod, 5-year-old display, 4-year-old Macbook, 2-year-old iPhone :)

As you can see, apart from peripherals, I haven't really kept up with Apple's latest hardware releases ;)

You're walking proof that upgrading with Apple is not always necessary. I kept my PB for 4+ years before I bought a MP. It was in pristine condition. I gave it to a friend and it is thrashed now but it lasted a very long time. It hit 5 years in February 2010.

Heck, I had a G5 from 2003 come in at work a few months ago. They will last forever if you take good care of them. :)

always wondered what your setup would be like! get some speakers :D

I feel as though the sound quality on the 27 inch iMac is already pretty great. It lacks a little bit of bass, but I can't afford to drown out my neighbors-- who live right across the wall-- with large subwoofers.

If you spend enough money for a good product and take care of it, it can last a lifetime. My PowerBook is almost 6 years old now but still works like a charm. My PowerMac G4 is almost 10 years old and it lasted me fine for 2 months when I gave my Mac Mini to my grandparents.

I see no point in getting rid of them, they work perfectly so why would I?

Perhaps not a lifetime, but I find that apple products tend to last much longer than others. My dell 600m has completely died on me a few times since I purchased in 02 or 03 and it's currently recycled somewhere. However, my friends 12" powerbook is still running strong and he uses it to look up stuff while watching tv. Apple stuff goes a long way.
