Guys, I have an urgent question. I'm looking for one of those "floating" desks. The kind that do not have legs, just the top that you attach to the wall. Does anyone know where I can buy those or what they're called?

Well I don't know where you could buy something billed as a "floating desk", but my brother uses a long shelf from Ikea that holds his iMac up nicely.

The Container Store has 20" deep shelves if that appeals and, of course, there's always The Home Depot.

Good choice on the glass desk...i have one also and i love it,it looks modern and sleek..i will never go back to wooden desk ever !

But you can see every speck of dust, plus there is no way to hide all your cables. To me, a glass desk is great until you use it. Haha

iMac is where all my image processing is done (photographer) http://www.alvinnguyen.com
MBP keeps a live feed on fb/twitter and is my on-the-road warrior

Looks fantastic! Really really cool!

Two things, what is your desk? And do you have a website so we can check out your photography?

Thank you! My website is http://www.alvinnguyen.com or you can also find me on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/AlvinNguyenPhotography

The desk is a Galant system desk from Ikea. They allow you to customize it by chosing the finish of the leg pieces as well as the top piece. My specific one was using:

@ $10 each (x 4 leg pieces) http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40057457

@ $259 (table top - I chose the clear acrylic lacquer option) http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S49870361

It's quite a big desk and you'll love it! Just keep in mind my option is glass and it is super hard to keep clean - everything shows!

I love these pictures. I would love to have a set up with a few Mac computers but it would be a total waste of money as i could not justify spending the money on it all.

To be honest my MBP is not used anywhere near it’s full potential and an Ipad would probably be more than enough for someone like me.

Actually i wouldn’t be able to DJ using traktor off an Ipad so i guess i can keep my conscious clear about owning an MBP :p
