I got my new Dell U2711 and it's awesome. Nothing much else has changed in this setup except that I have B&W DM302 speakers on the desk now after my Creature speakers developed a bit of a short in the L channel.

I think you'll have to ask steezy1337 because that is his setup & he owns a set of the Harman Kardon Soundsticks II speakers. ;) I don't own a set of those speakers so unfortunately, I'm afraid I'm not in a position to give you my view of how those speakers sound.

oOoOoOo, I should really pay attention to who's posting what hahaha. Well, either way, thanks for clarifiying!!!

the soundsticks are a good bit kit :) they do pretty well at louder volumes but can feel like it's stretching itself without being on max volume. i reckon for the money you could probably buy a better 2.1 system but you'd struggle to find one that looked so good next to your mac.

Looking good. May I ask what lighting you are using?

Thanks! The lighting is provided by Ikea Dioder strips stuck to the back of the LCD.

Im curious, does anyone actually keep the lights on when they use the laptops/PCs? I went to Ikea near the Athens airport a couple of weeks ago, and I was going to pick up the lights. I was going back and forth on whether or not to buy them, since they were 59 euros. It doesnt sound like a lot, but I didnt want it to be more of a impulse buy than anything. I got two LED lights behind my iMac already, which are white, but the colored ones would look better. I ended up using that 59 euros to buy the big 140 inch black and white pic of London, which looks awesome on the wall.

Beautiful setup, amh.

Ya, Ikea dioders are expensive, but at least they should last long! :)

Here's the link to the wallpaper:

Thanks for the positive comments SnoFlo and PowerGamer X. Clearly I also enjoy glass especially mixed with MBP/MacPro aluminium! I started my setup before IKEA was available in my country! The good thing is, I am fairly confident not too many others on the forum have the same desk, though I do like the various IKEA desks on show in this thread.

Here is my setup, rat's nest and all. Sadly my new gig requires me to work less at home and more in the office.... The dual 24's and the mac pro are new additions. Not pictured is my wife's iPhone and iPad.

Hi Mintin,

That was part of it but the main reason was its large color gamut (helps me when printing pictures). Other reasons were its stellar reviews (the anti-glare coating wasn't going to be an issue for me having already owned the Dell 2209WA), and I got it for $675. from Dell. Also, the lackluster review of the Apple 27" from anandtech sort of sealed things.

I need a man-cave damnit! I could have so much fun setting one up. Anyways, looks great. I think your TV remote is just a little too small though, you need something bigger :p

I definitely need to pick up an iPad. With the consensus being that people love them, should i get one now, or wait for an updated one next summer? Thoughts?
