I have made MANY Changes to my desk since I last posted (Part 9). Well for starters, I have a totally new desk! I will be taking-over my older brother's room after he moves out (about a week) so yesterday I made a tiring & grueling trip from Wentzville, MO to the Schamburg, IL IKEA store to get new furniture. Boy, what a store! I'm already planning to go there in a couple of months to get more stuff. Anyways, I purchased a 63"x31-1/2" IKEA GALANT, IKEA GALANT Drawer unit, IKEA Markus, and an IKEA EFFECTIV cabinet 'system' (as well as many other odds-and-ends). Keep in mind that this setup is temporary, and I'll be posting more shots hopefully next week of my new completed room. Someday soon, I hope to outfit the entire room with IKEA furniture. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to quote me. I am a proud owner of a 2007 MacBook Pro and a 2008 MacBook (both of which are pictured), but I plan to transition the MacBook Pro as my "mobile Mac" and get a baseline 27" iMac for Christmas. All pictures were taken on an iPhone 4. My apologies for a few of the photos having a bad rotation. I'm lazy. :p

My desk can never stay clean for more than an hour. A cluttered desk is a sign of a clear mind...I actually find that I am more easily able to find things I'm looking for if my desk is a complete mess.

Dorm room...rainy Saturday, so I didn't go out.

Your girlfriends place
Absolutely love it, so clean. Mind I ask where did you purchase your lamp from? - Thanks

The lamp is from Ikea... I can't remember what it's called.

where did you get that cool iPhone holder from?

The iPhone holder is a universal cell phone holder meant for a car windshield. It just happens to stick really well to my lamp.

... and to answer any more PM's, the device under my laptop is a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 which is a firewire multitrack recording interface.

well, that is the nice looking part:

btw the speakers are connected the amp below the the macbook, and the amp is connected to an airport express.

For streaming I use a Mac Mini hooked up directly via lan to the router. The Mac Mini is residing in a storage cubbyhole pompously referred to as the "server room".

Did anyone else notice the landscape/side dock connector on the iPad?!

lol, I did notice that, but after looking at it for a while, I think it's just an optical illusion. Look at how thin the black border is on the side where the dock connector is plugged in and the side opposite that. My guess is that the iPad is angled down slightly towards the wall.

The picture was most likely taken at a wider focal length and that's why it looks distorted and stretched out.

Is your entire home in this minimalist/industrial style? Where is the desk from? Your setup is refreshingly unique, even if it isn't my personal style. I'm glad there are Mac users who don't strive to recreate the same trendy look that so many other users seem to covet.

Thanks for sharing.

thank you for your kind words...the desk is from here

The rest of our home minimalistic but not industrial...

That's the kitchen (cooking area is on the other side):

I really like your home. I recognize the pieces, and love what you've done with them. The chandelier over the dining table is very cool. Thanks for the additional photos. Also, thanks for the link. :)
