Both setups seem like overkill, but very nice! (I'm guessing the company funds the work equipment?)

Yes, work pays for the work equipment. It might be overkill if you aren't working at capacity and don't have a position where time equals profit but when you are always working as much as you possibly can having the best technology (within reason) has an easily measurable ROI.

Very, very nice set up's. Clean organized and well equipped!

Man that is a nice setup you have.

Thanks guys!

dont get offended or anything but how much do IT directors get paid?

The IT director at my company was making about $125k with a 20% annual bonus. Don't know if that's what the poster makers, none of my business, but in the right company they pay and often over pay people in that position.

I'm am by no means offended, but I'm obviously not going to answer that. Don't put too much into a title either. While my official title is the IT Director I am part of a small management team that runs the company. While I focus on technology strategy that translates into company wide strategy. For instance, most of my afternoon will be spent negotiating logistics contracts.

Can we stop posting that entire IT director's post, with all pictures and info. its killing my computer.

Yes please! Edit the pictures out if you must. :p

I agree, that is annoying. We should talk to the admin and ask him (or her) modify the code to auto collapse all of the quotes.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Old gear, but I reckon it still looks good. :)

I would never, and I repeat never, ask anyone how much they made. I don't discuss pay. ;) Just wanted to be clear in the event you were thinking I was actually asking.

Nice setup man. :) I love my classics as well.

Yep, I hauled everything out for the photo op. Everything still works.

Not everything is a classic. My primary machine is a 13" MBP (mid 2010). And the MacMini (C2D) is a media center connected to an LCD flatscreen. Screen-sharing from the MBP is my preferred method of queueing up Hulu or whathaveyou.

Psychopulse - Awesome photos! I especially like the last one. I am assuming you are using a rather expensive camera?

Nice, all my classics,PM G4 and iMac G4 all work and are upgraded so they work perfectly.

How do you get anything done with all that stuff on your desk?

Cool stuff though, my friend.

Thank you ;)

No, you don't need an expensive camera to take nice photos, because it's not the camera that takes the pictures, it's you ;) I used a Nikon D90 with 35 1.8 nikkor lens. It's a great camera ;)

Obviously "expensive" is a relative term for you. $1,000 is expensive to most of us.
