Very much I am. In fact, over the last 5 years. I've just gotten more and more upset with Apple's quality in products. So much so that I may even sell my Mac Mini and just use my ThinkPads. Especially with Windows 7, I don't find any real need for me to use Mac OS anymore. Especially since my Mac Mini has crashed more than any computer I've ever had (other than my 13" MacBook Pro which I sold a while back). I really had no problems other than build quality with machines before 2008. Leopard was a great OS. Either way...

I sold my MacBook and bought a Thinkpad T410i and I like Windows 7 but miss Mac OSX.I just don't have the need of what a Mac does best right now and that's media. I did in the past but not right now. I want a MBP for some media stuff I do occasionally but that's very occasionally.May just get a iMac instead. Sadly I like Windows more now but that's just because I'm using it constantly at school now and for homework.

From left to right:
Late 2009 17" MacBook Pro, 2.8 Ghz, 4 GB RAM, 500GB HDD
Xbox 360 Elite (has since been moved to a different room)
Dynex 26" HDTV
HP All In One
Boat Anchor/PC - 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo, GeForce 8500GT, 2GB RAM
Logitech G15
Delll 2208WFP
Razer Mamba
Logitech Z5500

At some point I plan on getting a 24" (possibly 27") Apple Cinema Display to go with my MBP.

Ok this is my setup... still need to get my lighting sorted.

Really want some of those diodes to put on the back of my desk so I get a purple backlit setup.

Great setup! What are the two lights you're using there? I'm desperate for a couple of decent lights to sit over the top of my 24" screens for programming. Cant stand having the light in my eyes, so something like you've got there would be ideal :)

They are Tolomeo Classics. I have a pair of Tolomeo Minis as well, but those are not quite tall enough to clear the Apple 30" screens.

Highly recommended.

Here is an updated post of my work and home setups as of today.

Work
I am the IT Director for a consumer electronics distributor in the midwest (basically I manage all aspects of our technology and technology strategy). Setup is similar to before with a few upgrades (switched back to the Apple keyboard, added a Drobo, switched to an SSD).

Mac Pro - Dual Quad-Core 2.26Ghz Xeon, 12GB RAM, SSD for Mac, HDs for VMs
Three Dell 24" Monitors mounting using individual mounts
Drobo w/ Three 2.0TB Disks
Logitech Performance MX Mouse
Fujitsu ScanSnap
Wacom Bamboo Tablet (for nothing more than signing things)
Plantronics Savi Office Headset (Connects to Phone and Computer)
Bose Companion 2 Speakers (all I need for work)
Monster Beats Studio Headphones (not pictured, in the drawer)
Realspace Draycott Chair (awesome chair the low price, $250 at office depot)

Also in the office (not pictured) there is a small refrigerator (filled will diet pepsi), a big shredder and another large desk for new equipment setup (so I don't clutter my desk).

Since I'm sure it will be asked, the magic trackpad is in the back because I don't use it all the time. It doesn't work as well with 16:9 monitors setup as 3 x 1 because of the width but I do like using it when doing some tasks (web browsing, processing e-mails, etc). I usually keep it between the keyboard and mouse but moved it up top earlier as I wasn't using it at the time and it was in the way.

Home
In addition to working on normal work at home I do some freelance work (mainly clients I still take care of from when I was in college), personal computing (e-mail, social network, photos, etc) and am involved in managing another company I'm invested in. I've had nearly 40 macs over the years (I upgrade a lot) and am happier now more than ever. The 17" MBP is an awesome product that allows me to setup in whatever city I'm in and be fully productive and the iPad allows me to go through days of travel and meetings without having to constantly manage the battery life of different devices. Everything you see are just tools, the best tools in my opinion are the ones that allow you to focus on what needs to be done and not worry about the tools themselves; Apple makes great products that fit that profile.

17" MacBook Pro, i5 Processor w/ 8GB RAM and an SSD
Dual 20" Cinema Displays (second one connected via USB video card)
iPad (32GB Wifi, I have a MiFi)
iPhone 4
Bose Companion 5 Speakers
Bose QC3 Headphones (not pictured, in the drawer)
Cheap Epson MFP in the closet that only gets used for scanning and printing boarding passes
27" iMac (for my wife on a small desk on the other side of the room, not pictured)

Well, i actually like the built quality of it's devices. Give me another computer maker that has aluminum body laptops at this price with this quality. None. But, they're leaving gaps on other stuff, like the webcam itself, no blu-ray and the OS itself is becoming, how can i say, boring. Looking back to the mac on a timeline, it became more boring year after year. No colors, no options, no personalization. I think that the most beautiful mac ever, is the iMac G4 lampshade. It was like a punch on stomach for it's time.

Regarding the OS, i'm kind of "new" to the mac. I moved from the pc like a year ago, and now, when i use windows 7 (at my family's desktop) i feel like ughhhh, disgusting. It lacks a ton of improvements on user interface, but on the other hand at minor stuff, is a killer over the mac. One thing that i really hate on the mac, is that you have no control at all of the applications you've installed. When they're removed, they leave a ton of s**t over the hard drive. The Mac AppStore may be the answer. What i really appreciate about apple, is that they take a special care with minimum stuff (details) that others just leave it, and this is what makes the real difference (at least for me). Put a HP dv2 near a macbook (or a mbp), and you'll see what i'm talking about (forget the price difference vs. hardware).

Congratulations, you bought a lemon. That happens and it sucks, but it doesn't mean apple products have decreased in build quality. Sorry that you don't feel a need for Mac OS. Ive had the opposite experience, as I originally installed win 7 on bootcamp but never use it anymore. Expecially for work related stuff. I live in word processers and I can't stand the way windows renders text. The fact that you have to use win 7 anyway on your Thinkpads might have something to do with your experience.

The IT director at my company was making about $125k with a 20% annual bonus. Don't know if that's what the poster makers, none of my business, but in the right company they pay and often over pay people in that position.
