For once I'm really happy with the way the lighting + picture came out. REAL happy!

G4ChristmasDesk%20003.JPG

Also: Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Edit: Well, aside from the tree appearing pink! That's weird, but probably has something to do with the orange light + the metallic stuff the tree has in it :) It's really a nice shimmering white color, hehe.

Oh yea, and my big corny lamp is back! I put it in the garage for a while because I was tired of seeing it, but I really missed the overhead light (there's a "100w" bulb in it that bounces a lot of light off the ceiling and makes it really easy to work at my desk.)

I really like your setup. Nice and simple. Very clean! Is that a lava lamp?

Strange enough, yea that's a 'lava' lamp I found at walmart about 5 or 6 years ago.. it's a glitter lamp too, although I bet you can still find the lava version. Thanks for the compliment ^^

Oh and you don't need the Hazaard distro in Virtualbox, the retail install works just fine if you grab a BootCD.

Also: A good hint - use the Chameleon BootCDs, some of the EmpireEFI BootCD ISOs use the versions that are pretty much Chameleon and those work. The ones with the EmpireEFI Logo and/or Darth Vader don't really work lol.

Edit:

The EmpireEFI image mentioned there works great with retail + VirtualBox. Anyway, if you have a really powerful machine it works ok, but things like sound and the graphics don't work that great.

Do you have a link to your background?

dumb question: what device did you use to connect those 2 monitors, cause I find ViBook quite expensive.any other tips or suggestions?

I am planning to have another Alu Cinema Display with my mac mini.

Thanks

Sorry, I just now saw this, but the dual monitors are connected to my Mac Pro.
I'm not familiar with the options to connect dual monitors to the macbook, but I know they exist..

My setup acts as two workstations in one. Typically, the power-hungry gaming computer stays off, and I use the black workstation. While it appears to be a hackintosh desktop, the black computer is the NAS file server, and the display comes from the macbook pro laptop running to its left. This setup is great because it’s whisper quiet, wakes quickly from sleep, and still usable for almost everything I do. To the far left are the routers for U-Verse and the internal network. The black monitor is also an HDTV with U-verse setup on it. The iPad is great to pick up and use around the house so I don’t have to unplug the laptop very often.

When I plan on spending more time in the computer room or playing some games, I can turn on the silver win7 desktop and take advantage of the great screens with more screen space than I know what to deal with. The black station can run aim or web browsing while I play games, or I can watch TV off to the side while I use the other one. The 11.6" Air is the newest addition and good for traveling at work.

@Eclipse278 What's up with the missing :apple: on the 23" Cinema Display (the smaller one). Or it could be because of the picture, though:confused:

EDIT: I think it's because of the angle of the Picture. In the first picture the smaller Cinema Display misses it's :apple:. Although on the second picture the big almighty 30" misses it's :apple: logo. Weird..;)

Hey, can you post up a closer pic of the way you organized your cables under that desk. Looks clean to me and i'll be setting up a similar desk this week.

Can you post a link for the wallpaper on your Left-most rig? (The MacBook Pro)

Also, what size is that iPad?
