Just got a new desk, still need to move the poster behind it more to the right, as the desk wasn't there before so need to move it into the centre. iPhone would of course be on the dock but was using it as the camera, not great quality but oh well

updated set up

This is my first mac set up and I have been keeping it alive since 2006. Upgraded the 2.16 ghz core 2 duo iMac to 4GB ram and it continues to be a very reliable machine.

Were those iMacs able to actually use 4GB RAM? I have a MBP from the same generation and it's only capable of using 3GB, which is why I ask.

Nothing special. Anything a Mac OS X user would do. Custom wallpaper, icons, blank icon labels, and a couple programs to display time/weather/To Do lists. Plus I cranked up the transparency on the taskbar and my windows and put the taskbar on the top of the desktop. It's not difficult. You'd have just as much trouble customizing your Mac.

I can only speak for myself, but I was given a few non-functioning computers, and repaired them. I set them up, and have multiple computers. The reason i have two iPhones is that I just upgraded, and plan to keep the old one as a backup.

I like the older white IMacs. Two questions, does it come with a built in ISight and what OS are you running?

Yes it came with iSight and I am running Snow Leopard on it.

Were those iMacs able to actually use 4GB RAM? I have a MBP from the same generation and it's only capable of using 3GB, which is why I ask.

I was really confused when I upgraded the RAM to 4gigs. I am running 2 2gb sticks and it is all recognized but apparently the firmware only reads 3gb. There is still a lot of debate on whether or not this generation iMac can be upgraded fully to 4gb but I think that it is using all of it. I punish this machine and it just keeps going. I routinely have PS open on high memory settings with VMware running a windows virtual machine and half a dozen other apps and the performance is really good.

Two more questions. how hard is it to open up the IMac and do memory upgrades? And, do you ever use skype on your machine and if so how does it handle it?

It's not hard at all. Apple designed these for easy access to the RAM. It takes all of two minutes to remove the old memory sticks and pop in the new ones.
I don't have any experience with Skype but I do use Google Chat often and it handles that very well.

I've got two pairs. Also bought a few pairs as gifts for friends. I love 'em. They're really light, comfortable, have great response, and to me, sound better than Sennheiser HD280s, which I've owned in the past.

Here in Italy they cost 40€.

What about the sound isolation?
