If Apple ever did bring back this design, I would be first in line to purchase one. The only time this computer feels 8 1/2 years old is when browsing flash heavy websites or playing YouTube videos (with MacTube, I don't have that problem). This is one of the slower Mac's I've owned, but it's my favorite by far.

custom made, Steve and I go way back, so he got me this one on request...:D

actually, it's an optical illusion due to the wide angle lense I used.

Then why doesn't the iphone look like its charging in landscape? This is very suspicious!

Really though, very nice setup. I'd like to ask you to post the make/model of every item in your picture, but I wont be that greedy. Who makes that filing cabinet? I've been looking for a nice new one and that seems to fit the bill.

Indeed. Its like a owning a classic car. Great smooth "hips" if you will. May be lacking in horsepower, but makes up for it with sleek design and it's fun to drive.

Texas, unfortunately.
Believe it or not... this is my current setup. I sold my MacBook a few months back and bought this beauty a few days ago... a 800MHz 17" iMac G4. It's slower than that MacBook was, but damn it's so much better looking. In fact, this is my favorite Apple design of all time. I'm going to upgrade the RAM and use it as a web browsing machine. Best part, I bought it for $100. I'm in love with Apple all over again.

Rockin' the PPC, nice. :)

does a USB soundcard only enhance headphone quality of music or would hooking it up to a sound system (via 3.5mm, same size) increase quality as well?

Mawal, what did you use to elevate the back of your macbook? My Google-fu fails me. Great looking setup, by the way.

Just Mobile Aluminum Cooling Bar...way too expensive, but stylish and works

What brand is your audio setup?

amp: Onkyo A 933, a digital midsize amp connected to an airport express

speakers: Canton 490 GLE

Where's the desk from?

desk: pc-home by System 180

There are 3 outputs - 2 for speakers and 1 for headphones. So yes you can use speakers too. It actually is a 5.1 card so you can use it for surround sound.

Personally I love using the crystallizer effect that it has...I prefer it over just headphone out from my mbp.

Yeah. Love the iMac G4. I also have one in perfect white condition w/ 500GB HD. I figured I had to make it modern so I bought a Wireless Pro Keyboard and cleaned it. Now the iMac is complete with a bright white keyboard and mighty mouse wireless.

Although I do love this machine, my iMac 27" will be my main computer.

here's a pic of the white keyboard.

I'm really regretting selling my G4 now. This is, without a doubt, the most amazing design Apple has ever produced. The aluminum just looks as though it's been stamped out by some factory workers (which of course it has), but the G4 looks and feels special and personal.

Too bad I needed a quick $220 at the time rather than an awesome iMac G4 I had received for free

I never owned a iMac G4, and I do own an aluminum 27" iMac, however I agree with you. The iMac G4 is my favourite Apple design of all time.
