I love it. I wish they made mac mini's with like, a core i3 or i5 though, then I would buy one. As of now, C2D doesn't seem worth it anymore.

Beautiful though, and is than an HP monitor? It matches very well.

Thanks :)
Yeah ur right! maybe they will at least come out with a core i3 sooner or later.
Yes its a 19" HP monitor. HAHA it does fit right into the family.

My desk at school. Since last year, I have completely revamped my lineup. Replaced my PowerBook G4 with a C2D MacBook Pro, and replaced my Core Duo iMac with an iMac G4. I love looking at the G4, and I'm using it to post this now!

I'm surprised how much love there is for the G4 iMac on MacRumors. I've had mine since October 2003 (it was a refurb), didn't care for the design of it when I bought it and after more than 7-years of using it, still don't like it. I need a new Mac but nothing in Apple's lineup over the last couple years have "floated my boat" so to speak. Everything is original and I know I'm on borrowed time with each passing day. I'm a little dumbfounded that people are replacing newer Macs with G4 iMacs, who'd a thunk it?

I think they did a fantastic job at painting it. Actually on the bigger pic the dude just replaced the monitor with an HP one, and did a good job at that.

I may have to purchase 2 iMac G4s... 1 to keep as it is, and 1 to graft my 19" HP Screen (Looks identical to the one used in terms of model) onto, and paint it like that mod... and then run it to both a Intel Mini inside and have a splitter so it can do my xbox too......*plans crazy modding schemes*

As long as you take pics and show us - that's awesome. Lol.

I actually picked up the G4 for 100 bucks from a friend, so I sold my Core Duo iMac for a bit of cash. My MacBook Pro was getting used much more than the iMac anyhow, so I figured it was smart to replace the $400 computer with a (much more attractive) $100 version and have it play the same role. So far, it's excelled, running Leopard and handling my iTunes, web browsing tasks, and iPod docking needs. I also like having a desktop to have my speakers set up with all the time, instead of having to wire up my MBP every time I sit down.

I may not even part with this G4, because I love the design so much. Down the road, I may end up gutting it with newer parts to keep it going like others have, but for now, it's still a very productive member of computer society!

I had one of the first Aluminum MacBook's I bought as a refurb last year from Apple's online store and it was a great computer, but after a fall on a tile floor and just moving around alot it started looking kinda beat up. At that point I was kinda tired of Mac and I wanted a Windows 7 laptop to play some games and things like that, so I sold it to a good friend who wanted a Mac but didn't want to buy a new one. However I soon realized I needed at least one Mac system because I just love the OS in general, so when I was browsing eBay I knew that a iMac G4 was the system I wanted to buy. Not wanting to settle for a 15", the second my 17" came online I offered a price of $100 and the seller took it. When I got it in the mail it was more beat up than the pictures showed (the screen had a mark I saw in pics, but there were more than one and the base was pretty dirty). I gave the seller a Neutral feedback rating and he sent me a message back offering to take the computer back for a refund, but I had already fallen in love so I decided to keep it and clean it up really good. I'm going to replace the keyboard because it's pretty yellowed, and I think the marks on the screen can come off with some elbow grease.

The seller did say if I kept the computer he would take some off the price, but he's sending me a 512MB SO-DIMM instead which should help out the performance because right now it can barely browse the net with the amount of installed RAM.
