Now I feel outrageously stupid for somehow missing that.

Heh, no worries. Here's an older shot from a time before I got the speakers and the Air where you can see the whole desk, as it seems to interest people. I'd think you can find similar worktops in desired length from anywhere in the US too?

Snapped this to finish off some film I had in my camera. Kinda wish I'd cleaned up now!

OMG is that an original eMac box? I have never seen one before! I guess the "e" really did stand for education!

Yup! Original down to the styrofoam!

I even have the matching computer for the box, only it after diagnosing it, the power supply turns out to be dead, Turns out that a capacitor is blown so I am taking it into school tomorrow (my soldering iron is crap) to replace it.

I also have another G3 that I just refurbished, I only had to take out the original hard drive as it has 22Gbs of 8 year old school photos on it.

I never really cared for how the old iMacs look straight-on from the front, but they are awesome little machines and the hard drive swap is very entertaining lol. I remember doing one at a friend's house - we found a spare hard drive in his friend's garage, I put the iMac upside down on his bed, and took the HD tray out of there without ever having looked at an instruction manual (my usual way of fixing things XD)

Then the double checking to make sure the HD worked and was in proper slave mode involved booting the machine with the bottom off, upside down. :D

I'll never forget that one.

I am waiting for an installer to come in and wall mount my new tv above them since I am not comfortable with 3/8" drywall. After I finish that I think my workspace will be perfect for what I need. I would like to lose the iMac in favor of another 27" cinema display because I hardly use the actually computer and target mode is a pain to switch to. There is a third Ergotron MX ordered for the center display, but I am in no rush to do another VESA bracket install since those are a pain.

Since the photos were taken I picked up some cable sleeves so the three displayport cables are now nicely managed. Ikea hacking really works out well even if the 6 foot desk really does start to seem small with three huge displays on it.

At one point, I had the Mac Book on the stand that the monitor is on and the monitor on the desk. At that time, the Mac Mini sat headless on the shelves in the apartment.

The MacBook is a late 2006 2.0 GHz CD with 2GB of RAM, and a 320 GB Hard drive.

The Mini is a Mid 2007 1.83 GHz C2D with 2GB of RAM and the 250 GB hard drive out of my Mid 2009 MacBook that the dog decided needed a drink of coffee.

There is a 1.5 TB external drive attached to the Mini for file sharing as well as media distribution.

The MacBook is slated for replacement as soon as tax money arrives... I'm looking at picking up an 13" Air with 4GB of RAM and the 128 SSD. (My other option is to go with the 13" MacBook Pro, but I like the fact that the 13" Air has a resolution of 1440x900. :D)

The Printer in the background (the big beige thing) is an HP LaserJet 5SiMx that a friend gave to me some time in 2007. It has some 650,000 pages through it and I've not changed the toner since I received the printer...

Any questions, feel free to ask.

IIRC, the trays were only present in the original Bondi Blue iMacs. The newer ones, like the Snow shown in the pic, had a plastic cover and a metal EMF cover that needed to be removed, then the hard drive needed to be unscrewed from its cage. That was so much more of a pain than the Bondis
