Peabody, it seems like you're constantly moving through new hardware!

Then again...I do the exact same thing...in the past 2 years I've had 3 notebooks, 2 iPads, and four different phones. :D

Lol

Yeah I guess I do. I thought my Core i5 HRAG was going to be a keeper but decided that this macbook pro classic is great anyways. I am hoping to eventually go to an iMac + Macbook Air combination. Will need to see what work will give me and what apple will bring out with the next gen macbook airs.

Going back to my mbp classic set up. Bought this 2.4 2008" MBP from a member here for $350 because it had a screen glitch. Broke down the computer and solved the problem - all it needed was some tape. Installed a 500gb 7200rpm drive and 4gb ram while I was in there. Computer said "replace battery soon" but I have 3 hours on good use with the battery despite it being at 350 cycles. Selling my unibody HRAG to free up som cash for other goodies, but this should do quite nicely for the time being.

You don't miss your unibody MBP's hi-res screen? :p

I personally like the matte Unibody a bit better than the older ones (hate the glossy though for the glare and black bezel!), but I think the old keyboard feels much better than the new one.

Not only do the "classic" (pre-unibody) MBPs look better (IMHO), they are also slightly smaller in form factor than the unibody MBPs (comparing both 15" units).

just cleaned and organized my desk big time.

27" iMac.
iPod Touch 1G is there but you can't really see it as it's black on the black desk.
Blue Snowball microphone.
Kenwood stereo receiver on the right.

speakers on top (brandless?) were originally in a set of 3, bought for $20 off someone's lawn...
speakers on bottom (RCA) were bought at a thrift store earlier this week for $1.50/each... also picked up a $5 subwoofer that i haven't hooked up yet.

oh and the mousepad is a cover of Glamour magazine with Olivia Wilde on the front.

Does anyone else think the classic MacBook Pros look a lot better than the Unibodies? There's something about the one color design...

The older MacBook Pro's look cool, But they were badly built. I had one. The lid never shut properly(there was a gap between the lid and the bottom, I did some research and found out this is a widespread problem. Most of the non-unibodys seem to have it), Sleep mode almost never worked for some reason(The laptop kept randomly turning back on and off), and the most annoying thing was how hot it got after just about 30 - 40 minutes of use. I used that laptop for about 2 years and then the logic board failed.
