do you rly want to know?
Not taking sides on this little 'discussion', but just wanted to point out that centrifugal force doesn't exist! :)

yup. centripetal force however does exist. the only thing that exists is called a centrifuge which i believe evenly mixes chemicals and blood samples etc. The chemicals mare mixed by generation of you guessed it: centripetal forces. the forces has acceleration inward to the center of the circle.

However, centripetal force is only the result of centripetal acceleration. It is only the force in the direction of the corresponding acceleration. In this case, the force points in the direction of the centripetal acceleration (into the center of the circle). :p

On a less educational note, all of these setups are wonderful.

I sort of assumed there would be centripetal acceleration as it tough to have force without acceleration as F=ma points out...

Been reading this 15 part thread for a long while now, getting ideas. And while none of them have materialised in this current set up, i'm sure they will in the future!

Just got the iMac today (BTO i7 3.4Ghz 2011, 6970M 2GB, added an extra 8GB of RAM to bring it to 12GB myself)

Will probably be adding another desk soon, this one is far too cramped and need more room to work and play games!

Nearly, the centripetal acceleration actually causes substances of different densities to separate!

Now I've got some proper space to contain my computers (went and bought another desk this morning). I thought I'd give a quick update:

Yeah. Built it at the end of 2009 just as the ATI 5800 series cards came out.

i7 920 @ 3.5Ghz
6GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz
2x XFX ATI 5850
Intel X-M25 SSD and a few hard disks which I'm using for network storage.
Corsair 800D (case)
