Latest revamp of the office setup. Switching out between a Kinesis Freestyle and an IBM Model M in the interest of reducing RSI exacerbation. On the Model M currently. Apologies for the crappy cellphone pic. Good ambient lighting isn't terribly good for photos with my phone it would seem.

Here's my desk at uni. I didn't really have a "past" setup, this is my first mac and until I've moved into halls of residence it's basically just lived on my bedside table. I like this current setup though =P

im happy for you but just curious 460 euros is like 600 usd roughly. im curious why you just didnt buy a mac mini. that sells from amazon for 568 usd or 417 euros. less then what you paid and you would have gotten a 2.3 ghz i5 , 2gb ram , 500gb hard drive and hd 3000 graphics. all you would need is a screen. maybe its more expensive to buy stuff in europe?

He paid in pounds, not Euros. Mac Minis start at £529 in the UK, which is almost £100 more before buying peripherals and a screen (And then you don't get the gorgeous display used in the iMacs). It would of course be a more powerful computer, but if the iMac meets his needs I'd have made the same decision as him [=

Thankyou, And thats my exact reason why I went with the iMac. :)
It will be used for web browzing A LOT ( I work online )
Photography ( Use Gimp at present )
And Video converting/editing.
So It will be enough for what I need :)

On a side note, I already have all the periphs I need but cant get to them at the moment ( long story. ) So didnt fancy spending out on the same stuff twice :(

I turned them into black and white because they look ever more crappy-er in color :p

If you saw my case door peeking out, it's the Raidmax Smilodon. Nerdiest name for a case, like, ever, but it functions surprisingly well for how cheap it was. I'd give specs on the rig, but it's like 2.5 years old and bleh.

At night

Anyway...left display, Dell U2410, right display, Dell 2007WFP (both IPS panels, TFT are garbage). Speakers are the M-Audio BX5a's (best sounding studio-style monitors for less than $300), Filco Majestouch keyboard (#mechanical4lyfe), and a Logitech G500. I'm currently not using a mousepad, because I'm waiting on a Corepad XXXL :)

Also, that's the 2011 11" MBA. I'm looking for a good stand for around ~$30; how's the Griffin?

Nice BX-5 studio Monitors maaayne! Are you into audio production?

I've still got one of those Dell UltraSharp swivel monitors too....remnants of my PC days....gave it to my better half though!

Now using a 21.5" iMac....and my monitors are a pair of "affordable" Behringer Truth 6's....work very well...

I don't do any audio production, just a big fan of music :p

And the Dell displays really are incredible; I've been using the 2007WFP for like 5 years now :D

here the setup from my dorm room. one is my desk and the other is the living room. sorry for the bad quality. the lighting in the room is horrible. The pictures include airport extreme, airport express, 2 western digital my book studios 2tb and 1.5 tb. These are used for movies and other files that i don't want on my computer. 1 my book 1 tb for time machine, and 1 my book world 1 tb for a music sever. its holds all types of music but a lot of classical because our dorm suite is all music majors. another my passport 320 gb has there as well. a magic trackpad and my iPad. in the living room is a 32" LG 1080p tv, creative 2.1 speaker system soon to be replaced my klipsch 2.1 sound system. we have an xbox, gamecube, and apple tv there as well. the hard drives are wired to the airport extreme for wireless movies through the apple tv. the airport express allows for airplay. we also made our own network as the school only has G routers.

our biggest problem is the cable management behind the tv. does anyone have any ideas on how to better deal with that lol.
