Thanks for the comments on the stock. Yeah my dad got it for me Christmas of 08. They also got my newborn a Disney one.

Sucks they don't offer it anymore :(

Meant to comment on that before. I've had one on my wall since the last stock split in 2005. My little engraved quote says something different though. :D

My "new" toy. I was looking for a while to get a good white Intel iMac that was not ridiculously expensive. Now I found this beauty - looks like brandnew and mostly feels like it too. :D

I'm not the guy with the table, but it's Crate & Barrel and very awesome:

I definitely agree this is an awesome desk. however I noticed it was 34 inches deep. man thats a deep table. long is one thing. you can put it along a wall or something. but deep, that take up a whole room. even my drafting table is only 30 inches deep. this thing is more. I dont know 28-30 deep is the best i would buy. any deeper and its like having a dining room table for a desk. seriously measure out how far from the wall 34 inches is before you buy.

I guess it all just depends on what you need and how much space you have. I just bought a new desk that is 36" deep to get more space. It's a fantastic surface to work on.

I actually got inspired to go find a better desk because of this fellow's Crate & Barrel (he posted a few months back) so I suppose I should say thanks. :)

I know it's not a brand-new iMac, but hey - I just turned 16 so I don't make loads of money. :)

Thanks! I guess it's ease - it has more memory than a USB and it's more portable than a regular external harddrive.
It's the best of both worlds... sort of. :)

Thanks. Since I only use external hard drives for backups I always gravitate towards desktop models. I guess different needs make for different choices.

I like it. I don't even wanna remember what kind of crappy PC I had when I was 16. Must have been a 486 DX 40 or something like that.

Question: why do people have/use portable hard drives with desktop setups?

Because you don't have to have a power adapter. Just plug in the usb and go. No crawling under the desk to find an outlet.
