My setup has since gone plain jane compared to my previous.

New lamp/flowers too, have to say, the first lamp/flowers looks better imo. Lmao :p

1) Clean set up with a lot of stuff
2) Clean set up
3) A lot of stuff

Even if there was a mac pro with 32GB of Ram on a 16TB server with 5 ACD's I couldn't work if it was messy as hell. I'd work better on a G processor with a flash drive if it was clean.

Is that a live edge table? It is very nice.

You should buy some proper storage boxes/shelves for all that stuff.

If he has an ikea locally then good idea, if not... terrible.

I had a desk I wanted from them it was $150, the shipping was $250!!! Spending $400 for a $150 desk! Ikeas shipping is outrageous. He should go to the best place local, and get the furniture he needs if HE wants to rearrange it. I'm more of a fan of measuring what you want, and building it how you want though.

I was finally able to take a decent shot of my studio space...

Very nice! I see you like your Herman Miller products.

Does that type of natural fluorescent light ever bother your eyes? I tried it for a while, but that type of lighting can be irritating at times.

Thanks! More so a big Eames fan than Herman Miller :) I don't usually have the overhead light on but just use the table lamp and haven't minded that.

The biggest challenge for me concerning my workspace always seems to be what kind of lighting I choose to use .

With colorful products such as that Eames dsr and the "Hang it all" you have on the wall, the white tinted lighting you currently use brings out all of the color and makes the space look so nice.

Girl's dorm room setup (please excuse the posters). I've been adjusting this setup all semester, because it's so difficult to accommodate everything with that awkward wooden desk. In the end, I used those adjustable metal cube shelves to extend the desk on the left for the subwoofer.

Macbook Pro (13'', Late-2009)
ASUS 22'' Widescreen Monitor
Swan M10 Speakers
WD Elements (the black box underneath the monitor)
Apple Bluetooth Keyboard
Logitech Bluetooth mouse

Monitor stands consist of two iPhone boxes placed below two books to create that hole underneath the books to fit the external hard drive.

Cord management needs some work, but the cords attached to the Macbook are run through the Quirky cable manager.

To the left, there is also a PS3 Slim and an HP Printer.

Photo taken with iPhone 4S.

Rgds,

Hi! It's GeekTool. You can find it here: http://projects.tynsoe.org/en/geektool/

And here is the inspiration for the design I used, as well as step-by-step instructions: http://iamawesome.net/2009/04/my-geektool-setup/

Hope that helps!

Thanks! They're great! I haven't had the chance to turn them up more than 1/4 of the volume, unfortunately, since it's finals week here and there are dorm noise violation rules lol. But they sound great, the bass is fantastic, and they look really slick. The aesthetics are definitely a plus for girls lol :)

I almost didn't get them last month because I couldn't find any suppliers in the US, but then this small company just got a shipment in and I got lucky :)

That's awesome. I plan on getting them soon. They're some of the sexiest speakers I've seen.

Beautiful setup... I love your floors!

Why would someone vote this comment of mine down (located on the last page)? I'm not understanding. I like the simple setup and I think the distressed hardwood floors in the room of the setup are wonderful. What's wrong with that?

2009 iMac, dual tuner EyeTV stick, 2x LaCie D2 external drives, Swan M50W speakers, Time Capsule and.. uh... a few other bits and pieces.

The desk is 2m x 2m and originally cost me $100 (delivered!). It winds up and down, has runners for the cabling and powerboards (so it's all quite tidy), is rock solid, but weighs a ton and strikes fear into the hearts of furniture removalists.

Love the transformation! May I ask where you got the white wall shelf and the black mat under your keyboard?
