I finally got a new camera! <3 also, this room is quite photogenic :D That's an MDD hiding down there, the same one I purchased new a couple years ago... and my favorite 20" Cinema, which I think is the second best monitor ever (next to those 27" thunderbolt displays!) Hooked up to it via firewire is my trusty PowerBook G4, which was necessary because my G4 doesn't support WPA2 AES and my phone only allows tethering over that way for the moment.. too lazy to mod the tethering program to allow other methods.

Ah I love this place, my tables might be smaller, but our college town house feels like a can of sardines sometimes lol.

The speakers can connect with an quarter inch plug to a regular 3.5. Personally I use a Behringer UCA202 (external sound card kinda) with quarter inch to RCA. Either works I just think it sounds better with the usb and it only cost $25 for the UCA202.

so do the speakers need to be amplified with a power source? i like the usb idea but not sure about the speakers. i see a lot of the same set ups with what looks like powered speakers. im open for suggestions. anything under $250 maybe $300.

i was thinking cerwin vegas but they arent powered.

because i take my mac mini with me every day.

I'm a video editor, so everywhere i go, there are more screens then you can look at. So I only need a desktop mac, that's easy enough to take with you and is actually powerful.

i already have a "sleeve" which is great, I'll try to make photo's soon.

The speakers are each connected to a power outlet. On the back you have a choice between TRS (quarter inch plugs), RCA, or XLR. These are studio monitors so they aren't cheap. Each speaker retails around $200. You can go down to the Rokit 5 but after you hear the 6 or 8 you may not want them.
