Sorry for the terrible pic quality, I just now realized I left my camera back in the dorm over winter break.

Missing from the picture is my Time Capsule and iPad. The blue accent lighting isn't very visible in the daylight either.

And the greatest soft drink ever! Worth the trip to Kentucky to purchase it every time.

Do you or anyone else with the BookArc have a problem with the computer overheating when it's closed and connected to an external monitor like that?

----------

Why do you say that?

I think he/she means the desk.

That is awesome.. I'd love to see one in person. Do you use it for anything?

Just picked up the full NeXTcube system a couple days before Xmas so I haven't had a load of face time with it other than desk it and get a feel for it in the room..

Took a quick test drive and it's a very  piece alright but the bottom line is that.........it's a 20 year old super computer..

Just one more shot to put into perspective what one cubic ft of NeXTcube really looks like.. It's simply mind blowing*..

its coming along nicely. looks like all you have to do is paint that back wall and get some decent curtains in place of those busted blinds.

Recently sold my 17" MBP. I wasn't using it so I figured I might as well get the most $$ for it now and put it towards a future iMac upgrade.

Looks awesome! Why didn't you just go for a display plus mbp? I assume mobility wasn't important.

well, I had the iMac first and I needed something to use at school so I got the mbp.. but then the iPad was released and that ended my need for a laptop. In my situation, the iPad was a laptop replacement.

I have only been using it for about a week, but I haven't had a problem with it. BookArc claims that it is actually less chance of overheating when it is placed upwards like that.

Tim Berners-Lee used that for the first Web Server. It's a piece on modern history.

Really love your setup - so hipster lol. What do you think of the bluelounge items? I thought about picking up a few things last month but due to lack of reviews decided to hold off.

Finally found a home for NeXTcube (I think)..

I thought it was going to look a little heavy in the same space as the Apples but it seems to work for now..

BTW, I'm shooting with a 4S and does anybody know how I can get a better resolution than what I got going on.. Doesn't seem to be a lot of options on the menu..

I got a notion to slam a new mini inside NeXTcube and get it rocking with SL and Lion.. Very tempting, however, as Designer Dale said that it "being a piece on modern history" best I think twice about it..

Thank you.

While not shown, the Bluelounge Cablebox should be a household essential. It has the right quality built with its retardant plastic. May double as a leg rest. Importantly, it makes cleaning easier and reduces the cable clutter. Check out the Before/After on Bluelounge here.

The Bluelounge Cableclip shortens cables. In the photo, I'm using a Medium sized with the Seagate HD. Elsewhere, I use a couple of Large sized to cope with power adaptors, thick cables. Check out the variety of Cableclip here.

Bluelounge products may seem expensive to some. But upon usage, it makes life easier. The design is simple and functional, thus according to D. Rams (as I concur), it is good design.

Sweet setup. What do you use all that computing power for? And, where did you find the NeXTcube? Also, what is the silver stuff that is on the walls of your office? Any other wider angle shots?

Here's my setup. I've upgraded from my Titanium PowerBook last summer to a new MacBook Air. While I've also upgraded my mouse and keyboard, some things still remain from the previous era: my desk, lamp, and iCurve (from Griffin Technology).
