I figure that with a desktop Mac you setup the external hard drive, plugin (both power and data cable) and then forget it. Plus most desktop hard drives are faster, available in larger sizes, available with more options and lastly are cheaper.

I know it's not a brand-new iMac, but hey - I just turned 16 so I don't make loads of money.
My first Mac was the iMac PPC, no camera, white, before intel switch. It was the first computer I fell in love with. It's still working but I gave it to the daughter of a girlfriend. I even get to see it now and again. Here is an old picture of my setup. I still think it looks rather fine. For the last 6+ years I have a Mac Pro. I've never had a computer be my main desktop for so long before.

Wow, I didn't know the iMac G5 was so popular! I've seen them really often in this sort of threads!
My PowerMac G4 setup at my mom's place which currently serves me as some kind of media centre, iPod charging station and simple web browsing tasks:

Well, the Netherlands is the country with the highest amount of iOS users - iPads, iPhones and iPods are responsible for about 70% of the total amount of mobile internet traffic in the Netherlands!

Thanks for the comment. Interestingly, Crate & Barrel positions the desk as both an office desk as well as a dining table.
I've had a really narrow-depth desk before, around 24" deep, and it really sucked, particularly back in the day when I had a huge CRT. Now that I have a dedicated computer room in my loft, I'm only looking for large desks so that I can keep things organized. I was actually looking at meeting room tables, but those are too big!
I guess it all just depends on what you need and how much space you have. I just bought a new desk that is 36" deep to get more space. It's a fantastic surface to work on.
I actually got inspired to go find a better desk because of this fellow's Crate & Barrel (he posted a few months back) so I suppose I should say thanks.

All these pictures of older machines make me appreciate the beauty of the older products. Not that I don't think the newer ones aren't beautiful at all, but I've always been a fan of that iMac G4 and especially with PowerMac G4 MDD. I want one but no idea what I would do with it. :-/
My "new" toy. I was looking for a while to get a good white Intel iMac that was not ridiculously expensive. Now I found this beauty - looks like brandnew and mostly feels like it too.

It's not so much a pro mount but more of a.... "Red neck fix"
It's gripped in a certain position with my desk that it can't fall off because the bottom with the base. Obviously I could change the viewing angle so I could Have it straight forward but I think it would probably be less stable & I prefer the viewing angle tilted
But it's really secure so If I tried to shake the desk it doesn't budge.
