Glad you like it! After reading steve's bio I've gotten freakishly pedant. Keeping everything minimal to the core of its purpose.

Wow, I have done the same thing as well! I now appreciate minimalism so much now, I am thinking on getting rid of the big speakers in my setup and just adding a Twelve South BassJump2, a magic mouse, and an iPhone 4S w/ a dock
to make my setup even more minimal

Hahah, maybe it's a hidden conspiracy in there, to get everyone cleaning like manimacs.. ;)

I would consider hiding the speakers and hooking them up to a apple express, and airplay the s*** out of them. That way, you could easily output the sound from your iphone to them too!
Good luck! :)

@lamboman:
Thanks! Haha, it reminds me of the apple store ones!
Maybe living in the country of all IKEAs finally pays of! ;)

Great recommendation! I will consider getting Airport to make my S****y internet a bit better and so I can use airplay

P.S. I can't wait till OS X Mountain Lion to Airplay my MBA to my HD TV! now their is no way I am buying a separate display, unless it's an Apple ThunderBolt Display with Airplay built in, so I can also use it with my MBA as well as my future iPhone and other iOS (I can so see Apple doing this because of OS X 10.8)

i dont downvote posts w/o pictures but i can see why. its pretty annoying visiting a picture thread that has 26 posts and 2 pictures. pretty much an entire discussion spanning several days. which is what this thread has pretty much turned in too.

Well this is ironic.....

kidding.

feel free to send PM's to a poster instead of clogging the thread with useless chit chat. I actually like seeing pictures.

Here's my setup. Been looking at all the setups for several threads now, figured I'll add mine. I agree, enough with the chit chat going on. It would also help if everyone posted what they had instead of just a picture. The picture was taken with my iPhone 4, so the colors aren't entirely accurate. So with that, here is my setup:

13" MBP (Feb 2011) on a custom made stand aka cardboard box - wallpaper from somewhere on interfacelift.com
32" 1080p Toshiba TV - wallpaper - picture I took in San Diego, Ca.
Creative Gigaworks T20 speakers (I don't recommend - too much static noise)
Desk: Ikea Mikael Desk - highly recommend, easy to break down and move in my car going from apartment to apartment, lightweight, big enough to study on.
Lamps: Ikea GRÖNÖ
Chair: Montessa Chair from Staples
Monoprice iPad/iPhone dock

So you have the BaseJump sitting on the BackPack? Anything else stacked behind there?

How do you find the BaseJump? I assume you have it plugged into the display, and the display's audio still runs?

yeh, nothing else stacked

basejump is awesome, i recommend it, its not as good as buying a dedicated sound system but its just a sub to help the thunderbolt speakers sound less thin. yep it still runs display audio bassjump just gives you bass

Here's a few pictures of my setup. I just recently put my iMac on my Ergotron MX mount so I can swing it around to different angles. The angle in my picture I think is my favorite, since it hides everything behind the iMac, and it clears up the other side of the desk for when I'm doing school work.

I've been considering one of those shelves to put my 2TB WD MyBook up behind the display on my iMac. Thoughts on the BackPack?

Super minimalist on top of the desk.
The USB leads to a hub with my backup and external and printer attached to it.

My current desk has a keyboard tray and like many of you have stated, am now inspired to go to a very minimalist look. How do you guys and gals type with the keyboard on top of the desk/table? Does it strain your wrists?

That is the ONLY way I do it, keyboard trays just seem to get in the way more than anything.
