didn't know anywhere else to ask this, but i wanted to display my set up that i took with my nikon d3100, but the file is too large. what is the best way to downsize it.

I have the same problem. Subscribed for the solution to this issue.

Doesn't iPhoto give you the option to resize images when exporting them?

Excuse the mess ;p

And from all those computers the 13" Air is your favorite? Cool, it's a great machine!

Well, it is the first machine I've had with an SSD, so that does swing it in the MBA's favour! The 12" PowerBook was great other than being extremely under-powered by today's standards. SD YouTube was too much for it for example.

The 12" PowerBook is not "extremely under-powered" for doing everyday tasks. The only thing that it struggles at is anything flash but there is Mactubes to solve the youtube part. I just dont understand why people need Core i processors just to use safari and a bit of iTunes. (Not saying thats what you do, but just saying that in general.)

Open the photo in Preview. Go to "Tools -> Adjust Size" and on the right drop down box change it to "pixels".

Make the width 1000 or something. You can also "Save As" or "Export" (the latter if you're on Lion) and change the format to JPEG and adjust the quality.

i like your ikea desk. ive been thinking of picking the same one only white. how do you like it?

It's nice for what you pay. Sturdy enough with the right legs. However, if I had the money, I would buy something of solid wood.

But for the price, you can't beat it. :)

I don't know what Mactubes is. Perhaps it would have helped. I was using it to run a 24" monitor. Too much I feel. I liked the form factor a great deal though.

crappy shot of my desk setup:

speakers above have been replaced with mackie mr5 studio monitors.
25" + 19" dual screen (will most likely be replaced by 27" ACD)

hackintosh:
sandy bridge i5-2500k.
128gb SSD drive + 1 TB caviar black x 2 drives.
8gb of g.skill rip jaws ram.
MSI GTX460 HAWK OC 1gb ram graphics card
ASUS P8P67 Evo Motherboard with USB3.0 support etc

housed in a fractal r3 case:

the hackintosh cost me about $800 last year (it would have cost me probably around 2000-3000 for a legitimate mac pro)

i also have a late 2008 aluminum macbook.

what kind of desk is this and where can I find it?
