I'm an Austronaut
What about those people, who have the same question, but get it answered by someone else already having asked the question and the asked one already having answered the question? That would fill up some PM boxes quite fast and also have the asked one answer the same question more than once.
Since it is always been the way it is and not that many complain about the current state of affairs, it will probably not change that much. And if this thread were for ONLY POSTING PHOTOs, it would be rather short and dull and less active.

There's a screenshots thread at MacThemes allowing only to post screenshots, and a separate thread for requesting or asking stuff. It's been done for years and it works.
I've done the same request here at MacRumors with out success. I guess, because most people haven't seen a clean thread, they aren't sure they would want this thread as clean.
You could always go back and edit your post and add the info someone just request from your setup.

Hello guys here's an update on my setup I spent the weekend decorating my room giving it a 1970s retro inspired twist, but what is still functional today. I didn't want it to just look outdated and I think I did a pretty good job to be honest to say I'm only 19 and have never really been in charge or done decorating much before, it was always my parents :L.

There still needs to be a few additions, my floating shelf is being fitted at the weekend (need my dad to get his masonry drills) and I've just bought a Herbert Terry Angel Poise lamp which should also be arriving in the next few days.

1969 Sony Digitmatic flip clock in pretty much mint condition, fully cleaned and tidied up only issue to report is the bulbs have burnt out, which can be replaced. 43 years old and still keeps excellent time they really don't make things like they use to, I've had digital alarm clocks what are two years old and they look ready for breaking. This thing is awesome :D

Hello all again xD

I decided to post some better shots of my setup & room and have have removed my old ones posted previously, because my floating shelf was fitted today :) and its now about 99% finished :)

I love the 1970s and wanted to play homage to it when I came to redecorate my room, but didn't want it to look mega outdated so I hope I achieved it by creating a a modern functional room which can be used well whilst studying for my Criminology degree, but with a retro space age twist.

Here is my setup. Specs are the ones in my signature. I bought the floating shelf from Ikea and fitted three low voltage lights and a dimmer switch into it. It was tricky, but an interesting project! The desk is also Ikea, in matching black/brown.

a waste of wall space could hang a huge canvas or poster, :) not a fan sorry, not enough going on, & the fact that you didn't like mine hasn't helped, although the iMac is nice :D & I reckon its going to be my next main Macintosh.

I mean its so minimalist what do you do for a chair or is that considered too much?

The iMac/Macbook Air combo is perfect for uni in my opinion. The 27" of screen really is great for report writing etc.

I have a black leather executive style chair, but i moved it out of the way so that the macs was clearly visible. That is the main purpose of this thread after all!

Nice setup I really like the micke desk Do you find it deep ennough for your iMac? I will be getting a 27" iMac soon and I need a desk. I like the micke desk but it seem to shallow for a 27" iMac and speakers.

I really like the set up, like how clean it is, not a lot going on which is better than a lot going on, really love the iMac and always will, also like the look of the Bose companion 5 speakers, overall really like it

I was wondering if one of those could hold an eMac, or CRT Studio Display? Looking at the photo, im kinda discouraged.

This is one of the best set-ups ever IMO, love the minimalist look! :)
Can you tell me where you got the Crazy Ones painting, I NEED to get that.
Why not just get an ACD since all you use the 27" is for reports?

Psst... Do you live in Essex County in Ontario? If you do it's a beautiful, peaceful place, I lived there for a year.

Once again, great setup!

Nice to see you changed your light bulb!

Finally got my SD card back for my camera!

Here's my old setup when I first got an iMac G5 to replace my old PowerMac G4. This was in 2008 I believe.

Image

During this summer I decided to repaint my room white, as I wanted more of a clean look. After having had the iMac G5 for 2.5 years I decided I had had enough of the jet-engine fans and malfunctioning AirPort. It was time for a new iMac! In november I bought a brand-new iMac 21.5". I must say this is the best computer I've ever had. I love the LED-screen, the Magic Mouse and Wireless Keyboard as well as the blistering performance. Also pictured is my new iPhone 4S which was bought in december. I'm contemplating putting up the M5 poster again or something similar, however I also like the clean look. Comments are welcome. :)

Not pictured is my MacBook Pro bought in 2007.

... shouldn't you judge his setup based on ... well ... his setup and not whether he liked yours or not?

im glad ive seen the micke desk in person i saved myself some money. for me anyway it was way to shallow. sure you can fit stuff but everything is too close.

I'd say it is deep enough for the iMac, but only just! Also, from a practical point of view it can be a bit awkward if you have arms on your chair because of the thick draws underneath. But it has really good cable management if you're a bit OCD about wires like me.

I really like the set up, like how clean it is, not a lot going on which is better than a lot going on, really love the iMac and always will, also like the look of the Bose companion 5 speakers, overall really like it

Yeah the Companion 5's really do compliment the iMac well. A massive sound from such compact speakers.

I was wondering if one of those could hold an eMac, or CRT Studio Display? Looking at the photo, im kinda discouraged.

I doubt it, although if you had it in the corner of the desk there would be a lot more room.

This is one of the best set-ups ever IMO, love the minimalist look! :)

The Crazy Ones print (http://www.crazyonesquote.com/) was made for a short while with 100% profits going to charity, but they had to stop selling it at Apples request. I didn't get one of the original prints but a forum member here remade a high quality version of it, so I got that printed onto a canvas and donated some money to charity.

Actually, I don't just use the iMac for reports. I also record a lot of music and the little MacBook Air wouldn't be able to handle Logic Pro unfortunately! Maybe one day...

And no, Essex in England. Although I have always wanted to visit Canada!

Personally, I love your setup. It's really serene :D

Thanks! It took a long time to pick the colour green so that it didn't look horrible, although I'm guessing some people would still think it does!
