This came last Friday. Quad 16 gig, 1T ... and the 4k Monitor. Really happy with it.

I am flattered that folks enjoyed the page so much, but it's not likely to come back any time soon. Unfortunately, a particular person who enjoyed the page crossed the line from enjoying into stalking both me and another famous office fellow to the point that it just quit being fun. :-\

I know to whom you are referring when you say another famous office fellow. That's unfortunate. As you know (from Twitter), I enjoyed checking the page every now and then to see if there were any updates on the setup - one of the best setups I've seen. I understand, though. Oh well, maybe a pic on here every now and then will do! :apple:

Wood tones and glossy black - very classy look! Nice!

The chair is swedish, Kinnarps Freefloat 8000 I think it's called. And yes its six 1,2W warmwhite LED's flush mounted in an IKEA Shelf by some DIY and a lot of swearing

Hahaha yeah, I gotcha!

Where did you get the LEDs from, if you don't mind? They look nice :D

love this so much. :eek::D

2 Questions:
1. What screen do you have?
2. What are those speakers?

It's the Sharp 4k that Apple sells. The speakers are Harbeth P3ESR's. Absolutely fantastic sound. I also have a pair of Harbeth 40.1's that I use for more serious music listening

----------

Is that the Fluval Spec? I just got that for my desk also.

Yup ... Fluval Spec ... houses a male beta a some snails. It's a nice little package and easy to care for.

----------

By the looks of 'em, I'd say they are Harbeth P3ESR loudspeakers. I was going to ask, what is it you are using for amplification, Mike? Great setup, by the way.

Ding Ding Ding ... correct on the Harbeth's. Great speakers. I'm driving them with a NuForce DDA100 connected to the MacPro. Also have their big brothers ... Harbeth 40.1's

----------

Nice setup, could you share the wall please?

Here you go ... it's a great site for wallpaper

Slightly different setup from last time:

w5q4i.jpg

2013 MacBook Air
Scarlett 2i2
Lexmark Printer
Gear Head mobile optical mouse
Realistic dynamic microphone (with stand)
Some assorted CDs and software
MacBook Air and Scarlett boxes
Chair and desks from Ikea

Not pictured-

Samson Q2U Dynamic mic (with boom stand)
Samson mixing headphones

Pretty happy with this current setup, but I could really use a condenser mic and some good monitors to go along with the Scarlett!

I think I love the lighting more than I love the rest of the gear. Bright white, almost blue LED lighting hurts my eyes in dim light. I much prefer incandescent, halogen or even a warm compact fluorescent light when working at night. Indirect lighting, of course.

If I had the money, though, I'd love a set of Phillips Hue bulbs for the office. Then I could change the color of the room's lighting based on the time of day.

Alright, desk updated, ready for the 30th anniversary of the original Macintosh.
From left to right:
original Macintosh (serial number shows 1983 manufacture date,) upgraded to 512K motherboard, plus HD20 hard drive.
iMac mid-2008, the oldest one that can run Mavericks. Upgraded to 2.6 GHz CPU, 6 GB RAM, 1 TB hard drive.
Cheapo ViewSonic 1080p monitor. Connected to the iMac via DVI, to an AppleTV via HDMI, and through a VGA/USB KVM switch to a Blue & White G3 and a dual-Xeon workstation under the desk. The 'stand' for the monitor is a 2 TB USB hard drive connected to the iMac. (The AppleTV is also barely visible peeking out from under the monitor.) The monitor has really basic *cough*crappy*cough* speakers built in, so when I use the AppleTV, I usually use headphones connected to the headphone out on the monitor.
DSL modem and new Time Capsule (I don't use the WiFi on the DSL modem.)
iMac G4 (17", 800 MHz, the last one that can boot OS 9.)

The desk has a keyboard tray under it that houses an Apple Wireless Keyboard, Trackpad, and Magic Mouse for the iMac, and an older Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro and IntelliMouse Explorer connected to the KVM switch for the B&W G3 and workstation. When I use the G3 or workstation, I move the Apple Bluetooth bits to the top of the desk and slide the USB ones to the front of the keyboard tray. When I'm not, they slide to the back of the tray, and the Bluetooth bits sit at the front.

First time posting my setup!

Have been through heaps of changes, though I think I'm finally happy! (Sorry for bad photo, rushed photo taken on my iPhone 5)

Got my MacBook down in the entertainment unit, with HDMI cable to the monitor that can be easily swapped to the TV. Also got the Foxtel iQHD and Xbox One in there. LG soundbar for the TV, and Bose SoundLink Mini for the Mac. If I really want to pump music, I send it via bluetooth to the sound bar.

Why doesnt Apple get a wee bit smarter, and release a wireless KB WITH a number pad?!?!?!?!

Yeah....I don't get that either. I currently use a Logitech K750 and it works well. But I would much rather have one from Apple running over BT to free up a USB port.
