Am I the only one here who gets sad/confused when they see someone who has spent 5-15k on their setup, screens, periphs, speakers, game consoles, games, etc, and then they can't even get a nice desk to put it in? Or they can't even paint the wall, or have other furniture or even a nice frame on the wall? How much is some drywall to cover up 1972 wood paneling, a hundred bucks? Come on.

I happen to like my '70's paneling, thank you. :p

And apparently a mountain dew addiction. Nevermind the Ritz crackers, Cupcakes, and Harry Potter glasses... you guys most know how to PARTY.

Might want to be careful keeping that monitor on top of the 360.

Here is my setup, as it is everyday, no cleaning up for the forums. :p

MacBook Pro 2.33GHz, Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, 2 Firepods (16 channels input w/ XLRs / 16 channels out), couple of film SLR's and a 500GB Lacie + empty Lacie case.

Taken with my Rebel XTi + 50mm 1.8.

Now I'm not one of these Apple-fanboy neat-freaks, but how do you live with such a filthy screen? Screens are the one part of my room I clean regularily!

It only looks so bad because of the flash... Even with the screen off, it doesn't look anywhere near that bad.

got a new keyboard, re-arranged some stuff, added a makeshift place to hold my wacom tablet (to the right of the desk on the side of the metal strut), and um, i think that's it. eventaully i'll finish the wood shelf that my lcd sits on; just going to round it off and integrate an ipod dock into the shelf.

good eye; yeah mrogers, it is wrapped in that split looming type stuff. i have a cat that gets bitey with cords, so i have to wrap most stuff with a hards split looming type of thing.

I am planning to build a backplate on to the desk to run cables to; bsically i have too many cables coming from the top of the desk to the bottom and anywhere in between and need a better solution for handling all of the cables.

Here is what I manage each day. It's actually part of a very high end data center, but the tours always stop at our cage since it's something so different. This picture was taken nearly a year ago. We've added a hundred or so additional minis.

Here's my MacBook Pro 2.2 GHz setup:

setup.jpg

The MacBook Pro is on a Griffin Elevator. That's a Brother HL-2040 laser printer.

I noticed many people also posted their entertainment centers, so I'm posting mine...

Yes, that, on the floor, is a projector. On the table, the bottom is a upconverting DVD player, and yes, that's a SNES (props to anyone who recognize the game in the slot). Classic gaming goodness on a 10' screen, who can beat that?!

What's not there: my AirPort Extreme (802.11n) and my 500 GB Iomega external HD, which is on the opposite side of the flat, inside a closet. Yup, internet access and AirDisk access is totally invisible :D

The photos are taken with my iPhone, I apologize for the craptastic quality.

What earthly use do Mac Minis serve in a data centre?

I was going to say that he's the reason that Apple has not discontinued the mini :)

OP: What are you going to do if the upgrade the mini or discontinue it?
And that look beautiful.

I'm in love with your setup.. well except the jeep poster.. make it a ford explorer for me!

so what kinda chair is that and what kinda speakers are you running.. specs please!

Thanks

Don't even own a Jeep lol.

The chair is an Office Depot Lane Furniture deal $249 for $149 I got it on sale, be warned if you get one it's gonna stink your house up for 1-2 weeks, nasty factory smell that isn't washable, just have to wait till it goes way. I almost took it back before I read about it on some sites.

The Audio is as follows:
- Preamp: NAD C162
- Amplifier: NAD C272
- CD Player: NAD C542 HDCD
- Speakers: Klipsch Synergy F-3 (Soon B&W 805S w/ stands)
- Power Regulator: APC H-Type 1.5kVA H15BLK
- Rack: ATI AGR 405B Glass
- Interconnects: Custom by Blue Jeans Cable - Belden 1505F w/ Canare RCAP
- Speaker wire: Canare 4S11 Quad-Star Bi-Wire

Adding a Musical Fidelity X-Dac V3 external DAC for the iMac later on, $500 I don't really wanna spend right now. New speakers first
