My MacMini setup with Matias RGB wired keyboard, Magic Trackpad 2, Taotronics Sound Bar, and 27 inch Samsung Curved Monitor. I love it, just wish my desk was bigger.

And they coordinate with the flower pot, the lamp, and the trim on the mousepad.

A setup worthy of an interior decorating magazine.
I promise that was totally by mistake ?. I started setting stuff up until I thought it looked good. I knew I had something when my partner (who actually does design and photo shoot layout work for a popular crochet magazine in the states) said it looked good.

Never in my life have I seen a dock overloaded so excessively with applications
Love the view though.
Ya know, I never saw it that way. I like to keep my desktop relatively “clean”. The real question is do I need all those in the dock, or am I just a dock app hoarder? Hmm. Now you’ve set my mind wondering.

Mac set up - 1.jpeg

Itinerant a year ago, early 2009 Mac Mini was in a box, and mainstay was my 2017 MacBook Air.

Moved into an apartment six months ago, bought a 24" hp monitor and set up the Mac Mini to access some files stored on it.

Settled for now, the aged Mini has become my mainstay again because I prefer use a desktop. Much improved sound with the addition of Bose Companion 2 speakers.

Considered getting new M1 Mini, but for now old faithful is adequate for most of my at home needs, supplemented by the Air. When it does fail in one way or another (probably the HDD, still with the original) the newest Mac Mini will take its place, likely with an upgrade to a 4K monitor.

The back is more exciting than the front these days. Recently retired the 2013 Trash Can (RIP) and have been using a 2018 MacBook Pro connected to my trusty old Thunderbolt Display. Patiently awaiting an ASi 16” MBP and an affordable successor to the TB display (a man can dream).

Really nice! I love the black theme of the „rolling shelf“.
Although I must say: the little safe is useless without it being attached, any thief would just thank you for keeping everything in one place and take it with him ;)
Thanks!
Your comment on the safe is totally true. What I have in there has no value to others and is just to make sure certain stuf is in certain place. But the thief doesn’t know that... I might have to reconsider it ?

Is the homepods a good stereo pair? I have two JBL similar looking speakers and they did not work set up like that. Ended up putting one in other room and using just one in a shelf to my right. But I am thinking about stereo listening..
They work ok, I wish there was a way to output macOS system audio to them.

The current Big Sur beta added support for outputting to stereo pairs, although I’m not sure 11.0 is supported by your machine (or if it would even be wise to install it on there if it is). We love our stereo pair of HomePods and were very disappointed by the discontinuation.

The iMac in that photo is a Mid 2009 and definitely isn't going past 10.13.6. I tried Catalina on it and it wasn't ideal. High Sierra works great and has support for iTunes 12.8.x that can output to a stereo pair. I haven't ran any of the 11 betas on my other Macs. I would be excited to see my M1 output to the pair.
