This is the first time I have seen anyone set up their "office" in their garage. Very nice, but how does climate control work?
It doesnt. lol.

Thats why my primary office space is in my room in the house. The garage set up doesnt get used much unless im out there working on my vehicles or just hanging out. Really, with my plethora of laptops and iPads, I dont need it. But Im also a nerd as much as anything else, and had this stuff. Its also handy for music and videos and looking up how-tos and part numbers and such. Pure excess on my part really.

In the winter time, its not too bad. I live in central CA, so a space heater is all I need. But in the 100+ degree summer weather, it just all gets shut down and/or brought inside for the season. A wall mounted AC unit is on the schedule for next year I think though. Again, pure excess. lol.

Not really a desk setup shown but I did a little modification to my beloved 13" MacBook Pro retina (late 2013). The anti glare coating was damaged so I decided to rub everything off and put on a matte screen protection. As I always loved the older 15"/17" Unibody MacBook Pros with their high resolution anti glare screen and silver bezel I bought off Etsy a silver bezel made from vinyl foil. I did documented my whole process in this thread if someone wants to know further details.

I miss the old unibody 17-inch MacBook Pro with the anti-glare screen.

Haven’t had a desk setup since college, about 2005. I took over this half of my partner’s desk recently and I love it! This is not its final form; partner is moving out this summer and I will have my own new desk to replace this one.

I like the wood look and that's what I have in my office. Can I have details of the laptop stand please as it might be what I'm currently considering https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07547H7BM/ref=emc_b_5_i

If possible, can I have closer pics of the laptop stand too please?

And beautiful second photo ♥️

My desk has gotten better lately! I start a part time WFH job on the 27th. Just customer service, but it’s better than the nothing I’ve had since August.

This is still just technically half of my partner’s L shaped desk. When she moves out I will be putting my own new one along the other wall which will give me a little more surface, drawers, and ✨wall space✨ to decorate, so I’m going to make it everyone’s problem.

Congratulations on your job. And I absolutely love your positive attitude towards it. I know far too many people who just sit around and take money off the government.

Your mac setup no doubt will make it a little more fun.

Sorry about the poor lighting, I had the lights off when I took this photo lol.

Certainly not perfect, but it works! And I'll tell ya—these speaker stands are REALLY NICE! Well worth the $120 investment!
Nice setup, with a honest keyboard. Whats rare, you have one of those blue single slot gpu pro cards in your MP. How is your experience? I have heard this version is a supreme low noise solution. Can you elaborate?

Thanks!! The W5500 runs great in the Mac Pro! It's actually faster than my M1 by a surprising amount in video rendering/Blender tests, which is one of the reasons why I use this machine as my main computer. But the thing about low noise... uh... no. It's one of the loudest GPUs ever in existence! The single blower is clearly not enough to cool this card, so even just rendering 1080p in Resolve makes the fan kick up pretty loud. Although part of the reason is because the fan is so dusty, and I need to clean it out... it's a mess.

Love this setup. It feels like a very calm place to work. May I ask what adapter you're using for the monitor? And is does it provide power passthrough?

It's been my working place for years now and became even more so during covid. You can even see the color on the wood is starting to wear off. 😅

The adapter is this one: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/...5decfb83995668386&fs=f=adapter&fh=4595%2B45b0

Sadly, it doesn't provide power. But neither did the original one. It's used for the screen, speakers, webcam, ethernet port and any USB you plug in the back. The Thunderbolt Display has 2 cables: Thunderbolt 2 and MagSafe. They worked perfectly with my previous 2015 15" MBP, but MagSafe on these newer models is different, so I still gotta use that. But to power it, you still have to use the new MagSafe or the USB-C port.

Oh, I just remembered, I then also needed an adapter for MagSafe, because the monitor had 1st gen and the MBP had the 2nd gen, which was a bit wider. This is the adapter:
