Some new toys and a bit of rearranging:

Sold my Drobo 5N since it had no added value for me compared to a regular external HDD. Got a WD My Book Duo 6TB (RAID0) to fulfil my storage "needs", making regular partial backups on my spare drives, I'm ok with the risky striping business.

My setup seems to revolve around sequential data speed, not completely intentional but I'd have to admit that I just like the raw throughput somehow without any actual use for it haha. For that reason there is now a Thunderbolt cable between my Mini and Air. These are the speeds I'm achieving:

Mini (W/R):
950MB/s - 1GB/s (jup, that's right, gigabyte)

MBA (W/R):
290MB/s - 520MB/s

Mini > MBA (W/R):
TB: 280MB/s - 410MB/s
LAN: 110MB/s
WiFi: 30MB/s N 5GHz

MBA > Mini (W/R):
TB: 440MB/s (faster than the internal one haha) - 360MB/s
LAN: 110MB/s
WiFi: 30MB/s N 5GHz

My Book Duo (W/R):
USB3.0: 250MB/s - 300MB/s

I'm happy with the setup I gathered over the years, but I still have quite some aims, you have to keep dreaming right? ;) I do hope to make some additions in the course of this year.

A small addendum:

Finally upgraded my two external monitors from 24" 1080p to 27" 1440p, and I couldn't be happier!

NYR99 I love that setup and chair, would love to get one of those. I used one at work for a while and it was super comfortable!

By the way is that the Logitech MX Master mouse?

Been a while you lot!
Some very nice looking rigs in here.

Last time I posted Ild kinda just moved in so my setup wasn't what I wanted it to be. Haha it STILL isn't!

Anyway here we are today until I get the funds to upgrade the Mini and the screen. Need a faster Mini and a larger screen.

iDevices are all good and keeping me happy, Although I am missing one thing. The Apple watch. However, With The rumours of Google releasing Android Wear for the iPhone/iPad, I may stick with my moto 360, I suppose time will tell lol.

And yes thats a BB Playbook on the right side of the desk.

Any questions gimme a shout. Ill try to get something better up later on...

Recently set up computer in the living room. TBD running off a Mac mini set up behind the monitor. Hate the usb wire but more convenient to have 3.0 available at all times. Chair isn't posted because the wife is still trying to find one that she likes. All of these were taken at night

Been quite a while since I've posted. Made the move from Chicago to Vegas, here's the home setup in progress. Will get better photos once the woman moves here with the nicer camera

I definitely think so.

And the monitors are ASUS PB278Q.

Great, thanks for the response. One more question - what arms are you using to mount the two side displays? In one shot it looks similar to one I got from Monoprice but mine seems to hold the display crooked unless it's in just the right position. That could be a problem with how I have it mounted, though, but just wondering what yours are as it looks like they hold yours level, as they should.
