My current setup :)

What's in the picture:
Mac Pro 5.1 (3.33GHz 6-Core, 32GB DDR3 1333MHz ECC, GTX 680 4GB, 256GB PCI-e SSD)
Dell P2715Q 4K
Dell MSA14 Monitor Arm
Logitech Performance MX

How do you find the mac pro driving a 4k screen? Any issues with refresh rates? Trying to figure out whether to go for a mac pro but worried about 4k compatibility, any advice would be awesome!

Smooth as butter, using a GTX680 4GB but a GTX660 also did the trick, even some gaming is no problem!
A standard HD5770 won't pull it off though, keep that in mind :)

My setup in 2012:

After that, I've moved to another apartment, and since I'm freelancing, I don't currently have an office at home. I just use my retina Macbook Pro or iPad mini when at home.

However, this is my current setup at my stockroom, because next to my freelancing job, I have a webshop serving ~4000 customers every year. Just added the Scandyna speakers to the setup. Not the best (at least compared to my old KRK's), but damn they look good :)

Added a deskpad from Ikea that I saw in another post on here, and moved the mStand over to the left. Behind the monitor are the Caldigit Thunderbolt 2 dock, Western Digital 2TB drive for storage, and 2TB Airport Extreme for wifi and time machine backups.

My main workstation, just upgraded the 27" monitors from 1080p to 1440p.. with VESA mounts, so much nicer and really happy with it!

Late 2013 27" iMac, i7 3.3Ghz, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4GB, 256GB SSD
Monitors are Asus PB278QR
Bose companion speakers and Audio-Technica ATH50MX cans
Heaps of stuff not pictured like Drobo NAS etc but you get the idea!

I think it's like 53.XX" x 33" - it's the Torsby line from IKEA, with the high gloss white tabletop (they also have a glass option).

After nearly 10 years of trying to convince my mom to switch... she finally did!!

It's just the base 1.4GHz model but it's plenty fast for what she will use it for. I've been using it since last night getting everything set up and it's pretty great. I like it so much I might consider getting one for myself.

Hello. Nice setup. You gave me a very very good idea with your desk setup. I wonder, could you share with me the desk proportions: h*L*l and how many centimeters are from chair to wall, in the back side of Imac?
Thanks a lot !!!

What a great thread to stumble upon on a Sunday – and I've only made it to page 27 so far. I'll be posting photos of my setup soon enough. The first try to do so ended up in awful pictures so I have to take care of that first.

Something else: I'm a little surprised that many of you guys don't mind having cords lying around in a mess :) There's nothing as painful as that imo.

Well after using my moms machine and loving it, I decided to get one for myself:

I LOVE it. The screen is gorgeous. I'm installing El Capitan GM right now.

I do love the iMacs, I have been home for a bit and been able to test my mom's iMac and my dad's 5k iMac and one of them will definitely be joining my collection soon I think.

Beautiful setups in here guys, once I move into my new apartment will have to get a desk shot but currently things are all over the place in preparation for the move.
