Close up from my side of the desk.

Where did you get that Steve Jobs figure in that posture?

So here is a cool idea. Post your setup!

How CLEAN can you get it looking?

Here is mine.

How do you like that monitor? It's 4K, right? Also, it looks like you're using the ntMBP. This is exactly the same setup I'm thinking about getting as well. And lastly, how's that book? It's been on my reading list for some time now.

if you can hold off on the wait B&H has the monitor on sale for $600 (I already ordered one :p)

I thought that monitor was $500 but apparently I was looking at a different model. What's the difference between the 27UD88 and the 27UD68 and 27UD58? Are the last two just older models?

Also, I wish it was possible to swap out the base on that monitor. I'm not a fan of the curved semi-circle design.

It's a stunning display. I previously owned a Late 2013 27" iMac and I thought that screen was pretty amazing until I booted this machine up. Watching 4k video on it is really breathtaking.

I can imagine. I just don't really need a portable Mac. Probably better to just have an iPad for that.

This has been my favorite thread to stalk for a while now and I finally decided to post my own... 2014 11" MacBook Air & Xbox One connected to my 24" Dell display. I have two phones, my primary being the matte black iPhone 7 you see docked in the picture, and my secondary being my silver 6 plus that i took the picture with.

Great setup!

As I understood it you swapped your late-2013 27" iMac for a new 13" MBP w/o Touch Bar. A few weeks later and you're now back on an iMac 5K, correct?

Did you miss the big screen or was there another reason?

I'm debating whether I could replace my late-2013 iMac with the 13" MBP w/o Touch Bar, or whether I should add a 12" MacBook to the stable. Hence why I'm curious.

Thanks!! I did miss the big screen but that wasn't the biggest reason. Honestly I just wanted one and this model was for sale at Best Buy for $1600 on Black Friday so I said screw it haha. I actually previously ordered a 21.5" Retina 4K and sent it back the next night; I didn't like the smaller screen nor did I feel it was worth $1500 refurbished. This computer is much better.

Dat 4:3 screen, tho. It actually seems like a good aspect ratio. Even the bezels put the MBA to shame.

Yeh. I think the only thing wrong or flaw that plagues the 12" G4 Powerbooks is that the batteries for them, even, after getting a new one, which I did, doesn't hold. It lost its charging capacity after only a few months. I never bothered to get a 3rd battery replacement (they're expensive) after that. So, now, it needs to be plugged in all the time, which defeats the purpose of a laptop.
