Heres an update with my setup. I ditched the LEDs under the desk because they all dimmed/died. Instead I went the classic route with a desk lamp. In the future I'd like to get one of those remote color changing bulbs (can anyone suggest a good brand/model?).

I have expensive and cheap. Just go with cheap. They all do the same stuff. The only thing I would get an expensive one for, is because the ones that come with speakers, have better speakers in the ones hat cost more.

In that case, its something I have to think about. $179 is a lot!

I have Lifx bulbs myself and a lifx z light strip myself, you can buy them seperatly and they work without a hub. Their quality as good as the philips bulbs, they even have better colors and are brighter at the highest settings. Really happy with them.

I showed this to my brother and he said three words. "That is freaking cool!"

I have posted my office recently, but I also get a lot of work done here:

Genuine Stressless chair? The wife and I are thinking of getting two of them for our living room and were trying them out a couple days ago. I assume you like it a lot? How old is it and has it held up well?

Yes, I like mine a lot. One reason I went with Stressless is because I am 6'5 and the chair has optional risers that make it even better for tall people. I have it for over 5 years and it hasn't had any issues yet.

Here's the makeshift home setup at the moment. I'm currently without a desk, so I sit on a cushion and work at my coffee table. I switch between laptops, dependant on what activity I am doing, see below for which does what.

  • Lenovo Thinkpad X260 - Work Laptop
  • MacBook Air 2015 - Browsing Laptop
  • MacBook Pro 2015 - DJ Laptop
  • Google Pixel
  • Apple AirPods
  • Traktor S4
  • Logitech M705 Mouse
Not in picture:
  • iPhone 6s
  • Amazon Alexa
