Nice setups all, many of you must live in good neighborhoods, with all those macs in a room, a thief would have a field day. Unfortunately, my neighborhood; not so good, quite a bit of thievery, so I keep my laptop and other gadgets locked up in a locking file cabinet, it is the best I can do.

For those with theft concerns, how do you all deal with it?

That's awful... may I ask what city that is that it's so bad?

Maybe extra security for your place would be worth it.

Or put your mac inside an old case from the 90s so it'll be bulky and heavy, and look like it's worth nothing.

I live in an Apartment that's a nice place but a lot of shady places down the road. If I'm home there is going to be problems. I carry on me at home and am ten feet from a safe full of loaded backup weapons.

Looking good!

I like the taller aspect ratio. 3:2 is probably the sweet spot for me.

How do the 12" G4 and the 13" MBP run?
I don't have a MBP. Well I do but it's the wife's now. The PB runs great with TenFourFox optimized. The MB runs well too with some modifications. Going to hack Mavericks onto it at some point for better browser support.

Ah yes I meant the MB... It'd probably run a lightweight, up-to-date Linux distro quite well.

I have toyed with the idea of getting a lockable media closet setup with all the gear inside the locked cabinet and just the monitors, keyboard and mouse visible on the desk. Secure, and clean looking. Unfortunately, cooling and cabling has always been the stumbling block which is why I haven't done it.

I recently took some time to redo my home office/desk, and I'm pretty happy with the results. I went for a larger desk, so I could have all my necessities on it, but not have it feel too cluttered or messy. I ended up with a Lametric Time clock, LG UltraFine 5K display, Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad 2, and a silver iPhone dock that I've had for a couple years. I'm kinda waffling about getting a black one, and taking the silver one to my office.

Lmk what y'all think :)

Cool clock. Where can I get it?

Nice setup. I'm curious about the monitor and lights.

Did you intentionally take this photo at exactly 3:30, minus the seconds/milliseconds?

By the way, don't. Or at least I don't agree. My eyes like the black clock, to silver mac, to black monitor, to silver dock, to black lamp, to silver shade.

I think a black dock would destroy such a pleasant and somewhat symmetrical pattern. It's like skipping stones on a lake, to my eyes. You ever have such a good skip, and then it gets to that angular part of the rock that you carelessly chose, and that skip turns into a dull thud that takes you from a nice, fluid experience, to hitting a wall?

Sorry, I have these micro OC moments and that's how I explained this one. I don't think you have enough variation to get away with a hard break in the pattern.

Huh, you're right, I didn't notice how I created that sort of pattern with my arrangement! I must've picked up on it subconsciously, because I played around with a variety of arrangements before I settled on this one.
