I have a 27" 4K and I use it at 1920x1080 although I have tried it at 2560x1440. It's not nearly as crisp at 1440 as it is at 1080. But the general size of things at 1440 is good. I just use it at 1080 and I have Safari in split screen with "page zoom" at 85%. Seems to do okay for me.

I guess using a lower resolution on a 4K Monitor can cause this "unsharpness". I would recommend using the 4K resolution instead.

Great minimal set up. I was wondering what monitor arm you have? Also, what is the picture above the screen (i recognize the yao ming meme face in it).

Thank you! The monitor arm is a basic cheap arm from amazon which is built for two monitors but I removed one arm. (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01FEAZG7M/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1 was the url but the exact model seems to be gone at the moment) The picture was made by my girlfried with linoleum cut in school a few years ago :) It was a A :D

Using at true 4K would mean everything is very tiny.

That is true. I meant something like on my retina Mac: Full resolution with double the size of the content. Can not remember the name of the setting at the moment

Just ordered an ipad pro 12,9, probably arriving early next week. I'm itching to get my dirty hands on it :apple::)

Out of curiosity (+ I also have somewhat similar setup), what is the make/model of that display arm you're using? Looks kinda nice :)

Here
How do you like using just the iPad instead of the Mac?

I miss my Mac. While i use my iPad far more, there are still things I prefer about a traditional computer. I miss listening to iTunes on a big display that's easier to jump from song to song.

I love the iPad and can use it for 75% of things, but I have no desire to squeeze out my Mac usage anytime soon.

Okay. I was curious cause I've thought of going with just an iPad (and iPhone) but my brother does seem to be going that route and selling his Mac so I thought I'd ask.

Part of it is that I'm 24. I've had about 18 years of mouse and keyboard input. There are some things I could do on an iPad that I just prefer on a Mac. Over time I think more and more people will migrate over to touch input with simpler OS implementations, but there will always be needs for traditional systems.

Yeah that's true. I'm the same. I'd rather use MacOS than iOS for majority of things besides what I can use a phone for.

Here is my old setup: up until december last year. I was in a kind of interim period, trying out MacOs for the first time. First I bought a MacBook 12 inch to use at the university, and i liked MacOs so much that I transformed my old PC machine into a Hackintosh.
Dec last year I sold this machine and went with a MacBook pro 15 inch to use as my main machine. No regrets whatsoever, even though I still miss playing Battlefield 1 a little....:(

What model is this?

Haha just kidding, I know a lot of people are asking you, but maybe you could edit your OP and add it there so everyone knows. I have similar, maybe its even same but in EU it is called U2415 and I got 3 of them, will post my setup soon ;)

Here's an update with my setup. Finally got a full HD 24'' display!
