Moved within the past month, and haven't had time to get a proper desk yet. Also, the desk usually doesn't have stuff all over it, but I am in the middle of writing an article, and just really needed to take a break. I figured taking some pictures was a good a distraction as anything. Sorry for the poor white balance, I just snapped these, did a quick resize, and then posted them on up.

The computer on the left is my wife's MacBook, but I have co-opted it to make my life a bit easier while researching. The PowerBook is mine. Then there's the mini hooked up to a 32" TV and a couple external HDs. That's the media center for the time being.

The little black thing you can see protruding from the edge of the radiator is actually an aerial (antenna) which sticks on there with a magnet. The whole radiator is therefore turned into a giant aerial which is good enough to get great reception for all of the Freeview channels.

can i get a little bit more info on this? what type of antenna is it? this would be great for me, as my tv reception sucks in my room :(

and what type of mouse is that? i'm sick of the mighty mouse now

Hey all, let's try to keep this thread ON topic, yeah? If there are issues, use the report button, that's why it's there. It looks like so:

And just to reiterate: our preference would be for folks to "Attach" photos on MR (and they should be automatically re-sized). If you insist on hosting a photo elsewhere, and the image is larger, please be courteous to your fellow MRers and use the [/B] tags instead of the standard [img] tags.

Thanks.[/QUOTE]

Hi devilot. I have a suggestion. Is it cool if we give the term "larger" a numerical value? Like say for example, any images that have one side larger than 900px. That way people won't have an excuse to break the rule because their definition of larger was different from someone elses. Just a suggestion. Thanks. :)

Well, here is my latest setup, except for I have a different mouse/keyboard than is what is shown.

2104943224_afcce2632c.jpg

It is a quad-core "hackintosh" (you may have read about these recently). Anyway, legalities of doing this aside, it is really quite a beautiful machine. Sold my MacBook Pro to fund the hackintosh, leopard dvd, and new lcd.

Specs below:
Intel D975XBX2 "Bad Axe 2" | Intel Q6600 | 4GB (2x2GB) 800mhz G.Skill | EVGA 8800GTS 320MB SC | Cooler Master 690 (w/ 750w CM PSU) | Seagate 400GB | Seagate 500GB | Asus DVDRW (DL) with Lightscribe (Sata) | Gateway 21" FPD2185W LCD | LG 24" L246WP LCD

Also pictured is an IcyDock external enclosure with a 250gig drive, my custom made ipod dock + monitor stand, various toys, the mouse/keyboard should be a logitech g15, logitech 518, and a customized banshee aluminum keyboard that my employer bought us for the launch of our new product (quite the cool and geeky present for a bunch of developers); the receiver is an old sony receiver, the speakers are part of an infinity minuette set with sub, my work laptop with is a Compaq nc8430, and lastly my cat, Vash.

I'm usually a pretty neat person, but over the holidays, I've collected alot of clutter on my desk.

iMac 24"
BenQ 17" hooked up to the iMac.

My father's thinkpad that I use for my electronics projects. Below that is my Canon MP160 printer and an old unused Compaq PC.

Missing: my Macbook.

Is that a 20" Cinema Display by any chance or is it 23. Nice setup by the bay.

It's just the 20" - I bought it in the second half of 2006 for £550=$1100. I would have liked the 23" but that at the time that was around the £700 mark, which I thought was slightly excessive pricing by Apple. When Apple bring out a new Cinema Display then I'll buy into a bigger size.

yes its a cool setup but apple has been talking about with any intel based copy of OSX when you install some new software it will check your hardware and if its not the right motherboard with the chip on it to tell it its an apple then it will mess things up but at the moment this is just talk from apple but hay i use to run Mac OS 10.4 Hackintosh for about 6months just dont like the lil downsides like auto up date can rake the system and other stuff but still ace setup

Right, so happy new year, everyone. :D

I've just moved in to my new place so I still have some cleaning up to do. Hopefully, I won't have to move again for a couple of years. Anyway, here is the new set-up at the new place. I hope to improve this as the year progresses.

Three words...
Wood Floors Droll.

Don't ask, it appears to be a thing for me. I'm not hard to please apparently.
