I have always wanted to post my setup but I never wanted to because it was a boring old PC, now with my new MBP comes new privileges, I am now able to participate in these threads and feel proud.

This is my setup, coming to you from Australia. What you think?

Formatting the air and getting it ready for it's new owner. The 2.4GHz Penryn 15" Pro on the right is replacing it. The Air is definitely not a desktop replacement...

Dude, I am rockin' that same chair... not bad for the price!

My old faithful rig.:apple:

Dude, I am rockin' that same iBook... not bad for running 10.5

Nothing special. Cleaned up my room and drastically reduced the clutter.

Yeah, nice to see someone supporting our great country in a time when it seems so hip to put it down. :)

Texas, unfortunately.
Here's a better picture of my current setup; just trying to convince my dad to let me sell my dead mini and buy an iBook G4 (The one in the pic is my G3)

And yes, I know, my desk needs to be cleaned.

Indeed, and the mini has served me well, it died only as a result of my own stupidity. However, it's gotten to the point where a laptop is no longer just "nice to have" it's nearly a necessity, so why not kill two birds with one stone and get a (fairly) nice laptop to replace my mini and my struggling blueberry iBook G3? (The white one's backlight doesn't work, hence the clamshell)

And the desk, I've had nearly since I was born, and I've become quite attached to it, so it ain't going anywhere. :)

My family got a new 2.2 whitebook, and im using it over my 2.8 imac lately, i planning on saving to get one, so i agree, laptops are becoming necessities.

I hope you will at least be able to find a use for your iBook G3s when you get a new one, Cassie. :)

About the desk thing: In my "help me rearrange my setup" thread, people have been making fun of my carpet, wallpaper, lamp, desk, and table. All of these things have been with me for a very long time, and they, too, ain't going anywhere.

I hate my wallpaper, yes, but it's kinda kewl in a four-year-old way. :p

EDIT: I love Dr. Pepper! :D And Razer mice! :D

That is a Razer mouse, right? Which model?

I had an iBook G4 a few months back, and it was a great machine. Compared to my old 1.66GHz Core Duo mini it seem just as fast. They are really cool machines, but look out for logic board issues (very similar to the G3's, but not as widespread). I've seen some G4's going for $400 on some websites.

The first Mac I ever owned (and still have) is a 1.33GHz 12" iBook, the last revision. Still has the original hard drive, but 1GB RAM.

I've read that the logic board issues are way, way less common on the last revision (12" 1.33GHz and 14" 1.42GHz) than the other models.

iBook with confidence!

Also, if you see a picture of an iBook with dirtyish palmrests, they're not that bad at all. Mine look filthy in a picture but they look great in real life.

Yeah it was mainly the early models (800MHz-1.2GHz G4's), so the later the better.

I really miss mine a whole lot. They're extremely cheap now, so I might pick one up to get rid of my Compaq. It's so... Windowsish. Here is a picture for old times sakes; the specs were blazing fast: 1GHz G4, 512MB RAM, 30GB HD, Combo Drive, 12" screen.

I can't believe how ugly those iBooks look, after the release of MacBooks

I personally think quite the opposite, I'd much rather have an iBook on display than a gross MacBook. The bezel around the screen is too big in my opinion. The iBooks had it just right. Also the sharp edges on MacBooks are serious deal breaker for me. Plastics also feel cheaper (and for the most part are, friend of mine's cousin had his crack in all sorts of places from normal use, we toss our iBook G3 around like a ragdoll and it still looks amazing)

Gimme a sleek, tiny iBook G4 12" any day.
