I saw someone turn an iMac into a fishbowl, that was pretty sweet. I guess the only use I could think of for one of those now....

Oh, goodness no. Stick Panther on them and they'll run great! Also, his seems to be a Graphite, which means it's at least 450MHz, if I recall. It's one of the nicer iMac G3s you'll find.

Hold onto it and use it as a jukebox in an area of the house where you wouldn't normally put a computer!

yea this thing is rediculous lol. i tore a hole in my seat bringin it home. i passed by the power mac & monitor sittin in the grass at a garage sale. got it all with keyboard & round mouse for $70.

and my iMac i think is 400mhz, i may be wrong. it seems to run quick, i havn't plugged in an ethernet connection yet so i havn't really done too much with it. i have a USB wireless but it only works with OSX 10.3 & up. so i need to get the install cds to upgrade the OS

I just don't see the utility in having a computer running somewhere, in 2008, just as a jukebox. Besides taking up space, I feel there are a million better, more space efficient, and more aesthetically pleasing options. For example, you can put an iPod with speakers, or just run a set of speakers using Airport Express. IDK, I guess for me I just don't like to deal with hassle, and would rather just plug in an iPod to some speakers...

Yea I hear what you're saying....I have it kind of out on display but I dont really turn it on. i just keep it around basically*because I like how they look. It's like having an old vintage car or something.

Yeah, but if there is a more "pleasing" solution aesthetically, it'd have to at least be reasonably within the price range of the iMac. He said the iMac was free, which is pretty much as good as you'll get for a jukebox.. :D

Also, I may be a bit pro-keeping old stuff. *looks at the 27 computers in his room* *realizes he doesn't have an active Win2k computer at the moment, rushes off to get one running*

:p

Where can you find this type of lighting?

Also where did you get that TV stand?

Thanks

Thanks, OnTrack Studios and silbeej are right on the money. Picked up the lamps at IKEA, and the TV is on a wall mount I picked up from best buy :)

I have the same lights! I also plan on having grey walls. And it that a Maxell ad, with Pete Murphy IIRC, you've got there?

Yup, I dunno if it's pete murphy, just always refered to it as the "blown-away guy" lol, but I used the online rasterbator to print it out.
