I have that same printer. Two questions:
Do you need a separate cord for the scanner to work?
Did you have problems setting it up? Every time I turn my MBP on, the HP setup screen pops up and tells me to select a printer, but there is nothing to select!

The mini upside down garbage can under the desk in the first pic is for me to put my feet on....Ya thats how i roll  lol

Oh and you might notice in the pics that there is a x360 behind the MBP, lately ive been using the ps3 so i pushed to the x360 closer to the wall to make space for the MBP.

My setup has changed quite a bit in the last week or two.

Firstly I've replaced my Apple Macbook Pro with a newer model. I'd had the old one for 2 years so it was time for an upgrade. The new one is one of the latest penryn ones with an LED screen. Its a great little machine.

Here's a pic of the swap over happening:

I've also treated myself to a griffin elevator and a new apple keyboard. The griffin elevator really helps my neck and the apple keyboard is great to type on. The last purchase was an apple iPhone as the £100 off offer was just too tempting!

Here is a shot of it all in place:

Also in shot is my HP all in one printer, sony lcd tv logitech mx revolution mouse and netgear wireless N router.

Texas, unfortunately.
Well, its either your mind(which really means you're wrong) or some other outside source.

Either way, I'd try to find the reason, so you can have a faster Mac
I'll up the iBook's RAM to 1 GB when I get the money (That is some expensive RAM) But beyond that, there isn't much I can do.
Maybe its the Velocity Engine or AltiVec or whatever. Also Cassie's mini only has 512MB of RAM which is shared with the GMA 950...that pegs performance significantly. Meanwhile the G4 has a dedicated GPU which helps a little.

IMHO you need at least 2GB of RAM to run things decently in both Tiger & Leopard. Only in Panther or earlier can you really get away with even 256MB

PS i'm also a fan of Tiger...its still the main OS i use.

Also this should be the point where i post my setup but i already have in previous threads so...
Well, everyone has their needs. I run Leopard on 512 MB and Tiger on 256 MB. Neither machine is a speed demon, but they work well.
I disagree. My Powerbook has never had less then 800MB to spare out of its 1.5GB. Leopard requires maybe 1GB for normal use.

Most people tend to underestimate the ability of the Mac OS to conserve memory.

Also, doesn't the iBook also have 512MB? This is a little odd for sure, but calling a G4 faster clock-for-clock than, say, a Core Duo is ridiculous. I think, based on Geekbench tests, that the Pentium M can toast a G4 as well. :p

Kinda embarrassing....
They can also toast the G4 in heat production. :p
Leopard runs decently on 512 MB. Not great, but well enough for day to day use.

Wow...so 2GB for Tiger, but Panther was good with 1/8th of that? Come on!

I run 10.5 with 1.25Gb and 512Mb and both are fine. My iBook will have trouble with 10.6, with such little RAM, but for now its works(not crazy fast, but enough for Pages and Safari)

To say you need 2GB to run 10.5, let alone 10.4, is just nuts.

Beautiful setup.
Classic L shaped table, relaxed environment, good colors.
A killer Mac Pro.

Clearly an artist. :apple:

Very nice Wacom!

(Hope I am doing the right thing with the photos... if not - sorry).

It's better to just insert "snip" instead of the pictures
