I assume UMD is University of Maryland? I am new to the east coast... If that is what you meant, then no, those are condo's across the street from me.

He lives in the UK, our power is far superior to yours.WOW, there are a millions things being powered in that room, hope you have good wiring
Nice setup. I'm a CS major too, where are you at?Spent a long time lurking, thought I would post my setup!
Current setup at uni, from left to right; (friends) Wii, Quad 66 preamp, Dell 27" 2707WFP, MBP 2.2GHz/4GB, Xbox360. Gigabit switch and watercooled file/VMware/router/firewall/game server underneath, which has dual 3.2GHz Xeons, 4 x 250GB RAID5, 1TB WD drive running Ubuntu server. Got 2 x 3GHz quad cores, 12GB RAM (sitting on the shelf in the photo ) which is going in there soon. I'm doing comp sci at uni and been a long time Linux user. Switched last October and really love developing on the MBP. Mess about with photos, film it up and play a few games, etc. on it too.

Where do students these days get all their money?! Unless I work hard all summer I'm not even going to be able to afford rent & utilities, let alone a dual quad-core server :/
I would love for you to explain the secret...See, that's where my money is. It's all in the computers. I never have more than $5-$10 cash to my name unless I've just sold something. (And yes, I know it's stupid, really, but I'm not in it for the money.)
But, I digress. I'll probably be getting a new laptop soon, and will obviously post it up here to shock and amaze you.

Lucky for some, I don't have time to work during term with the ridiculous workload I get
Suppose it's what I get for studying at the 4th best CS department in the UK (according to the most recent survey that the lecturers have been boasting about recently!). I get stupendous amounts of work & it's one of the most expensive towns in the UK to live inLocal college FTW I plan on having my AS after next sem (year and a half) and will have paid almost nothing for it. Plus I get to go home every weekend if I want.
I'll cut the load down when I transfer, at least at first. I have a friend up where I'm going so hopefully his experience will help me balance everything. Plus he said he's already got a job for me when I get there.
