up top behind the dvd drive. There's a custom extension cord from the back of it going down behind the motherboard tray to the plug hole on the bottom. The pic of it from the back shows the opening on the bottom

do you have a worklog on this mod? i've had a gutted g5 case for years and have been thinking of doing this mod but time doesnt allow...
how did you cut out backpanel and install the coolmaster case backpanel?

I dont have a worklog, but I used this site as a basis for inspiration

http://www.s155158671.websitehome.co.uk/hackintoshaqua-m.html

I have a post over here:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=43287&st=0&p=309433&#entry309433

The site has a ton of threads documenting pple hacking apple cases for mods so there's plenty of info.

I used a dremel to cut the back of the case i just cut a bit at time until the tray was able to slide in and even used the holes of the g5 case to help secure in screws and nuts to hold everything in.

what monitor is that next to your imac?

its a Dell 2407W-HC. great monitor because i dont have curtains in my room so the iMac becomes a problem with its glossiness during when the sun hits my windows in the morning/early afternoon.

and someone asked, yes i have my Xbox360 plugged into my Dell monitor, audio is routed to the Harmon Kardon ipod speakers.

I do have boot camp on my mbp that i use to play some PC games. I mostly play my Xbox on live though.

Is the ACD running off the Macbook for dual display or do you have a Mac Pro or some other computer running off the ACD?

Damn the look of a Mac laptop with an ACD and having both running at the same time looks hella sweet and might be something I will look into next year when I go to college.

^ the ACD is running off the MacBook Pro (see the white DVI and USB cord?). then you can set the ACD as the main display in System Preferences and its just like using a desktop!

Been using synergy for awhile now, Bloody amazing.

Still need to pick up a stand for the MBP however, leaning towards one of these.

I have the same desk, it is awesome. I keep a large cardboard box in the bottom storage space of mine though, as sort of a "drawer" because I store a lot of cables & disks in there. Wish it came with 2 drawers now.
What makes it nice is that you are able to decide which side you would like the drawer unit on (Left or Right). Also make sure you get the clear desk mat. It's nice to put pictures under there and also protects a medium sized work area. The wood seems to dent when pressure is applied if you scratch it (maybe soft wood? idk).
It's definitely worth the $129 price tag. You can barely buy a laptop workstation for that price at walmart/target/etc.

what do you mean get a clear desk mat? like a see-through film that i can lay on top of the desk and work on top of that? alsoo, even though you said when pressure it applied you can dent/scratch the wood, is it a sturdy desk?

i've had my current desk for about six years (likely more than that), and i've left my mark on it. it's time to get (christmas?!) a new one and this one seems nice.

I like your PC setup! You have some nice equipment (especially your Antec case. That's definitely going to be my next case). Except your keyboard looks like the pack-ins they include with Eee Boxes. :D

How do you like your Z-2300s?

nice! how do you find the display? do the colors 'pop'?

It's just a TN panel, but after playing with the settings a bit it looks awesome to me. But then again, I got it for a bargain.

Haha, I like the smaller laptop style of it, guess I'm just used to it ;)

The z-2300's are well worth their price tag IMO. The bass can be overpowering, but i guess that's expected from Logitech speakers.

Speaking of speakers, anyone know of a way to get the audio from my MBP and windows box coming through the single set of speakers at the same time?
