While innocently snooping around I came across this.

One year later after cleaning it up and soon getting an external monitor to make it a desktop computer. I have cleaned the area up too.

haha congrats!
this looks exactly like those "leaked pictures" whenever an apple event is coming up. :p

maybe you should go see if there's an iphone nano hiding somewhere in your house? ;)

The funny thing is, I was thinking the exact same thing as I took the picture. I had to reach under a desk with my phone, since it's in my dad's office, to take the pic. The graininess and obscurity made me think of those leaked shots. :D

Texas, unfortunately.
Bored. Taking pictures. :p (Which I sincerely apologize for, I know I must have the crappiest cell phone camera on Earth...)

My iBook G4, my general purpose and favorite computer ever.
Full specs: 12" screen, 1.33 GHz G4, 512 MB RAM, 40 GB HDD, running Tiger 10.4.11.
2cne4oo.jpg

Next up, my first Apple laptop ever, my now nearly-dead iBook G3. It's kind of a backup-backup-backup computer these days. :p
12" screen, 800 MHz G3, 256 MB RAM, 30 GB HDD, running Tiger 10.4.10.
3329mo4.jpg

Here's my iBook G3 clamshell. Probably my favorite Apple design ever. This is an old picture, since I kind of loaned it to a friend (I want it back; I miss it.:D) Oh yeah, the other laptop in the picture is my dad's, just so you know. :p
12" screen, 300 MHz G3, 160 MB RAM, 3 GB HDD, running Panther 10.3.9.

Now, my Mac mini, without a case. Long story short, I damaged the logic board to where it wouldn't turn on, so I threw away the little tray that holds the fan and various other things. Wouldn't you know it, I "fixed" the logic board a few months later, so now I have to leave the case off and point a box fan towards it so it doesn't overheat. But I love it, since it was my first computer with OS X ever, and it's still my workhorse for things that are too intense for my iBook G4.
1.83 GHz Core Duo, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, running Leopard 10.5.5
6nulo3.jpg

And here we have my Rev. A iMac G3. I originally purchased this in the intent of upgrading it and making it a useful OS X machine. Well, it's been 5 years, and that still hasn't happened. Hoping to get it done eventually, but for now, it serves as a decent CD player.
15" CRT, 233 MHz G3, 32 MB RAM, 4 GB HDD, Mac OS 8.6
24pfjbt.jpg

This is my Macintosh Classic. The first Mac I ever bought, 6 years ago in March. It's fun to mess around with sometimes, it has a few fun games on it I guess. :)
9" CRT, 8 MHz, 1 MB RAM, 40 MB HDD, System 6.0.7 (Again, horrible picture, sorry)
2pqj9z6.jpg

And finally, my Apple IIc. I got a whole lot of great games for this one, all the classics. That's pretty much all it's used for, but it looks cool on my shelf when not in use.:p
9" CRT, 1.4 MHz, 128k RAM, No HDD, running some version of ProDOS.

i apologize for the dirty wall. i used to have posters covering every inch of wall-real-estate that i took down in favor of a starker more random placementt of postcards from places i have been and not been, art work, art invites and my own work that you can see blurred on the wall there.

powerbook.jpg

and i re-arranged once again. the feng shui wasn't good on the last one. i have my powerbook sitting directly across the imac. and it is there just to occupy space and tantalize me to sit down and write. it lost the external display since it favored the more powerful imac to do more rigorous work like photo editing, video editing and posing for forums.

LOL poor cell phone camera. Seems like its been dropped a few times ;)

Quite the collection you have! I'm sure the pictures don't do your gear any justice. I too loathed the G3 clamshell, although I thought the empty space around the screen was wasted.

Is that a 3G iPod I spy??

Merry Christmas :D

Close down that aperture!

why? i like them wide-open. heheh! j/k.

i was testing my new nikkor 50mm 1.4d lens i got that night. it's a lovely lens, btw. if, you can get your head around the shallow dof, which to some people is a pleasing effect. ie, it softens the edges of the computer in the picture and the focus point, instead, is rested on the round mouse, which was a deliberate composition. it's the same on the other picture. the background is mostly out-of-focus b/c it's barren anyway. instead, the focus point is on the front of the powerbook where one's palms usually rest to imply once again that a computer, however, cutting edge it is still needs to be used by humans. thus, must conform to human needs, desire and whatever. now do you people see where the "focus" is? sheesh.

They would both look better if the focus was on the screen... ;)

Unfortunately, that level of complexity doesn't come out in the photos, they just look like they're not quite in focus. Sorry!

Beauty and The Beast...

So, here is my desk, which I finally tidied up...

3b0q8613pt7.jpg

Not really visible is the Nikon Coolscan IV film scanner, multi-card reader and a small Western Digital 160GB MyPassport drive. The cupboard under the desk is crammed with games, system discs, and various other paraphernalia. iPhone 3G, iPod 5G in the docks, Bose Companion II speakers.

Follow the curve round and you get the other half's desk. As a graphic designer, she's just...messy. This is it tidy, usually you can't see the desk at all for all the paper and general crap on it. Intel iMac 2.16Ghz and a 2.4Ghz MacBook.

This is fantastic. I'd do some serious internet posting with a rig like that :D. My wife would never see me :p!
