Am I the only one that thinks it's weird that Apple still don't have docking-station/port-replicator connectors on their laptops, even now that they are selling monitors specifically designed for their laptops that require 3 separate connections each & every time you move the laptop?

these devices exist, they are called "bookendz", google it. I don't believe they are available for the new models yet however.

i have seen some people that have taken regular widescreens (not the ones that can rotate) and turn them to portrait monitors. how do you go about changing the monitor so it displays portrait?

Go to System Preferences and click on the "Displays" icon. In that prefpane, there is a drop down menu for rotation.

Not really a particularily graceful solution when compared to a proper dock/replciator not to mention those are hideously expensive!

Where are all the Mac Pro users?

I suspect one of two scenarios:

1: They actually work at their desk, so it's messy and not photo worthy.

2: They spent all their income on a Mac Pro - and cannot afford a desk yet.
:D

ok,not really new, it's the Quad 2*2.66 Ghz with 2 GB RAM atm, but coming from 1.83 Ghz 17', this thing is fast and the 24" screen is huge. I really love it.
