i spy an ap euro book. sophomore?

Actually i am a junior, and in my school regular euro uses an A.P. book, while A.P. uses a college book. It is so messed up. I miss all of the pictures and big writing in my regular U.S. history book from last year.

Owning a Mac does not mean you have to arrange your icons in a specific way. I don't see what is wrong with having shortcuts to regularly opened applications or folders on the desktop - it's very useful, especially with Hot Corners.

I also don't understand why you'd say something like "windoze-looking icons" as if it's bad. It's just different to how you would do it and it has nothing to do with "windoze".

@ iknowyourider:- Thanks for your comments. Yes it is a weather station.
I did wonder about 2 different wallpapers but haven't found two that I liked enough or complimented each other yet but probably will soon ;)
Re the icons - I ran out room on my dock - it just kept getting smaller and smaller so I thought I'd try the desktop and hey presto. When you use many applications at once or very regular - what else would you suggest?

@neltic13:- Thank you. I find it easier and quicker to have them one click away rather than 3-4 clicks.

We each use a desktops differently and that makes us all unique

Make a folder with your commonly used applications in your "Applications" directory, then drag the folder into your dock as a stack where they are immediately handy. ;)

That's a good idea. I have a stack for Applications, Documents and Downloads. All are set to display a folder. It looks neater that way.

Of course, I don't have 3,000 apps either. Take a look:

This is how I have mine set up for Downloads.
I have selected "Display as Folder" and the "Fan" view (9 most recent items).
I find this easier when downloading torrents because they are quickly accessible and close to the trash once I have copied the contents.
**Have blurred out the names to protect torrent distributors** ;)

Hence the smiley in my original post:). Only love intended.
right click and display as folder

My download stack is set for stack but it is as a folder right now. Sometimes it switches back and forth from stack to folder but I prefer stack. Any idea why? Anybody? Thanks.

Edit: OK, Got it fixed. Problem was view content as; "automatic" It is now set to view as "fan". Sorry for the chatter too. Hope to post latest setup pic soon.

The way I have mine organized is the dock holds all the apps I always use. Then I have a Stacked folder with some of the docs I constantly open and a downloads folder.

Awesome thank you - that's works really well and is much tidier:D
The icon is just a plain folder (assuming I choose folder and not stack)- is there a way to change the default folder icon please?

Hey,

I recently updated my setup:
Got a new display for my PS3
but I'm hoping for a decent AppleTV or Mac Mini upgrade tomorrow to use as a media station on the new display.

either way, hope you guys like it:

only thing that bugs me is the massive amount of cables running from my MacBookPro to my attached paraphernalia...
