Hey,

I recently updated my setup:
Got a new display for my PS3
but I'm hoping for a decent AppleTV or Mac Mini upgrade tomorrow to use as a media station on the new display.

either way, hope you guys like it:

only thing that bugs me is the massive amount of cables running from my MacBookPro to my attached paraphernalia...

Holy Cow dude!! Do you have enough iPods??!?!?! :D

What? PS3 is a GREAT media centre, and it's far better than the nonsense Apple currently sells. Put a bigger hard drive in it (you can use any standard 2.5" SATA drive) and copy everything over. Oh, and get PlayTV too, it records DVB-T (not sure if it is available in Belgium, but it is across many parts of Europe.

Try investing in Medialink from Nullriver software too and save yourself a lot of money on buying an additional piece of hardware you don't need!

Hey what's that blue light? Where did you get it? Looks cool...

I bought it from Ikea. It is really a cool gadget. There are like 6 colours...purple, red, blue, yellow, green and white..(edit..there are 7 colours, an aqua colour)

The desk is from Ikea as well as the "shelf". The desk was $80 and is solid! The shelf was like 30 with the legs. I love Ikea...

Oh ok... So that brings the total to like 7! Much better hehe

well actually...:

I've got a bit more, but not enough docks...

As for the PS3:
I know it's a cool mediastation, but I like to have a backup Apple.

I'm studying architecture and when I'm rendering a model, I'd like to work on some other files on a backup computer.
Or in case my MBP breaks down, I can swap easily.

I had an old MBP 2,33 but I sold it last week in order to upgrade to a new display and mac mini.

Does it have the same tone? I really like the way the Alu looks in that light...

The white light is really cool. I bought this last summer (08') when i didnt have my MBP, but had decided to get one. The lamp is also from Ikea. I just love putting their products together.

The rope lights are cool, but they are more expensive then the LED kit from Ikea. The kits comes with 4 two foot LED light strips and the have connectors at the end, so you can mount them on virtually anything. They are mounted via double sided 3M tape. In Ikea, they have them mounted around TVs. I may end up moving them to somewhere else when we get new furniture later this month...

I was at Ikea like 15 times before i bought these, and everytime, these lights called out my name to come over and look. I finally bought them. They also have other sweet LED fixtures that are calling my name at this very moment and i may end up answering that call on wednesday lol!

more expensive? the led lights from ikea are $50 and the rope lighting from home depot is 5 bucks for 6feet and it comes with a power adaptor.

WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

really? When i was looking at them, the ones at the HD near my house were pretty expensive and they werent as bright as the Ikea ones. Also, i wanted something small and compact..due to where i was mounting them to.

Yeah but I really like the tint of the lights and I don't think the Home Depot ones are that good... But i will give them a shot, because I can't buy the light from Ikea.com, and the nearest store is 2.5 hour away..

HA can totally relate to waiting on model renderings. I too am studying architecture and have two apple laptops for the same reason. A macbook pro and a macbook.

Saves me a lot of time.

Just finished my new setup. Will get better pictures tomorrow.

Under my ACD is a sony Blu-Ray player and my Wii. Both wall mounts are made by OmniMount. Bookshelves are "Lack" from Ikea. The lights behind my ACD are Ikea Dioder LED strips that change colors.

I'd imagine, but the end result was great. Your wire management is great too.

In my previous setups I never kept my wires neat and decided I would try to make it better this time... I used most of a zip tie pack :D . My surge protector is screwed on to the back of the desk (back is inset in the middle about 16". No wires are touching the ground. I have a couple more wires to zip and it should be all done.
