--Laptop Pics--

Why are they all laptops?
I saw that Gateway laptop at BestBuy. I thought it looked awesome! And it goes with my College Football team's colors.
What's the laptop in the middle?

And what do you do with all those laptops?

The gateway is for regular use - server set up / File upload / File transfer

2nd laptop the on in the middle is strictly gaming machine:

17' WSXGA+
Intel Quad Q9650 12Mb L2
4Gb DDR2 800Mhz
2x GeForce 9800GTX SLI 2Gb
3x 320Gb 7200rpm RAID0 (over 200Mb/s HDtune score)
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme

Yeah, its a beast!! :D

3rd is my new MBP for work - FinalCut/CS4/ Aperture

So everything has a use.
I know u can do that on one laptop but its just easier to have something extra :D

I wish I had my laptop still. It was easy to do little tasks on the laptop and then high power tasks on my other computer at the same thing. I kind of miss it. Hopefully I can get that all back soon...

Hi all, I've been wandering around these forums for a while now and decided to post up my lil corner of the world. Great to see all these brilliant setups, keep it up! p.s sorry for the wires (dont look under the desk!)...and the snow :)

I'm very envious of that setup, WOW thats nice. Just curious, what are the specs on the Alienware?

why would you waste money on an alienware? build your own

Ya, sometime people just don't want to deal with the hassle of building pcs. I've built several pcs before, and it can be a headache. Sometimes things work perfectly, but sometimes its a complete nightmare. If you have the money for an Alienware PC and don't feel like building one, that seems fine to me.

And plus alienware=bragging rights :)

many thanks adamvk! the Alienware is a 2006/07 Area 51-7500: vista x64, 2.67 GHz Core 2 Extreme QX6700, 2 gigs ram (unfortunately the other 2 gigs which came stock died, haven't bothered to replace em lol:( ) 2'ishTB HDD's (4x500 GB) dual 8800 GTX's in Sli, creative X-fi soundcard and all topped off with liquid cooling (which is a bit of a shambles when compared to today's standards) I used to do a fair bit of gaming, but I'm finishing off my final year in uni now so its been almost non-stop work; that's where the macbook pro comes into play! hope that helps! :)

MacBook Pro

This is my (messy) desk at college (high school in the States).

It's a Mid-2007 model MacBook Pro, specs in signature. I use it for all of my work, as well as for photography (Lightroom 2 and Photoshop CS4).
I also Boot Camp it into XP for gaming.

At home my family has two iMacs, a 20-inch and a 24-inch, both 2008 models.

Yup, its the Previous Generation iPod Universal Dock (iPod Video Era) With no Dock adaptor installed, i know this because i have the same case, and dock!

the iPhone comes up saying the device isnt made for iPhone (Even when the dock isnt plugged into anything) and asks if you want to go into aeroplane mode, which is a hassle, and the phone wobbles abit, but it should fit any case, and has S-Video and 3.5mm Out.

How does 2 9800GTXs and 2 hdds fit in a laptop? Can you take more pictures of that laptop?

Thanks

edit: I went to Sagers website, and yes those specs are def possible, Im just shocked that all that can fit into a laptop. I must say though, $3400 for a laptop seems like too much. Have you considered building a desktop instead, or do you need the mobility?
