Alright we've had our fun of flaming this dude about his iPod. Now lets give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe the 1st Gen iPod is in a drawer
lol :D No one was flaming her, persay...but we have proven with substantial evidence that the iPod in the picture is not a 1st Gen iPod. Mission accomplished boys, lets head home. :)

Actually, the 10 GB model (along with the 20 GB model) was the 2nd gen iPod. The 1st gen includes ony the original 5 GB.
Incorrect. 10GB 1st Gen were made for about 4 months before the 2nd Gen came out. I own a 10GB 1st Gen. I can take pictures to prove it if you like. You will notice two things, the top connector Firewire port has no cover like the 2nd Gen, and the "iPod" engraving on the back is with the old font, while the 2nd Gen had the new font.

Since I'm sure everyone has received their unit from Apple's ShipTube Pro lineup of next-minute delivery systems. Breaks up all atomic structure of anything and sends it straight your house and reassembles the atoms. Apple...Ship Different.

Here's the desk:

I assume you don't want to know about the "gray-box" sitting to the left. The monitor is a Gateway FPD2185W (21"@1680x1050, 16:10 widescreen). The speaker bar attached to the bottom of the monitor is for the Mac Mini, and the 5.1 speaker set for my Windows machine. Camera dock is for a Kodak V530 which I just bought as a little reward for finally cleaning my room up (yeah, like it'll last  ). I use a separate keyboard and mouse for my Windows machine and Mac.

and, here's the Mac:

I have the Belkin USB hub, but need to keep a remote control in front of it at night, to block the light from the LED. The light doesn't turn off when the Mini is off, and it faces my bed. I'm using the Mac for reading digital magazines, and as a media box (music, movies, pictures).

Is that a GameBoy Micro in front of the keyboard? How do you like that?

I thought about buying one of the 20th Anniversary GBMs for myself, but I still think it's just too small.

I have the Micro and the SP+, between the 2: I prefer the Micro. I find I have to tilt the SP+ a lot to get the screen at an optimum angle. The Micro also has a built-in headphone jack. One dowsnide to the Micro though, the Select and Start buttons are in a hard to reach location, particularly when you are in the middle of a playing a racing game and need to pause. My hands tire faster with the Micro than the SP as well.

Okay, I'm wildy brand new, but I kind of owe all of you for the speakers I just got for my birthday, so I'm thanking you by posting my last and current set-up (the latter completed just tonight---I *ought* to be in bed!).

Present:

G5 Quad 2.5 GHz with 23" display and Altec Lansing speakers. :)

In case you're wondering, the lighting isn't *that* drastically different between the two pictures. We moved and one room had Coca-Cola red walls while the other has really unpleasant brown ones. As soon as we're able, we'll go back to the red! One thing that *is* somewhat obscured by the lighting is signficantly better cord control than we had at the previous house.
Love the phone!

Double your pleasure Double your fun...

Love the setup, but why the two iMacs?

I can actually understand 2 iMacs, but why the same size? I'd get them confused during spring cleaning.

very nice but I have to ask, why too xboxs, i macs and printers?

Don't know why the printers, but I can kinda understand 2 xboxs. I have 2 PSTwo's myself (1 black, 1 white for imports).

My updated setup with my brand new 12" iBook G4 :) That's not where it's going to be permantly, need to shift some stuff on my desk around but just put it there to take the photo...

One iMac is for nothing except music. Only garageband, logic express, and sibellius are instaled on it. The other iMac is for just iTunes, iPhoto, e-mail, watching movies, etc...

One xbox is modifed with a 250GB hard drive full of games. The other one is running linux and is acting as a file server on the network.

On the question about the microphone. The Griffin works much better for picking up a person speaking, but the iSight picks up more stuff in the room. The bummer about the Griffin is that you have run it through the Griffin iMic.

I have two of the new Intel imacs on the way here now, which have the cameras and mics built in.
