Not to mention a DreamCast...keeping it real! :)

I stitched it together with Photoshop, as you can see by the diagonal lines and the empty area near the corner of the desk. But you get the idea.

Couldn't fit the whole thing into one picture, there was a 50mm lens and if I changed it to the 28-105 it would be too slow to hold steady.

^^^Thanks for all the nice comments, guys. I am very proud of my room, and I do like to share it. I'm not gonna lie, I like to post it partially to brag, but that's because I am very happy with my room. Nevertheless, I have had another request to stop posting pics, and so I will try to only post pics after major overhauls or additions. Which might be a ways from now, because I may have just run into another transmission rebuild (I honestly have the worst luck, ever), maybe a new car (Which means monthly payments and more insurance), and I start college this fall (ie, say good bye to extra cash). :)

...I suppose that's the sound of life and responsibiltiy knocking on my door.

honest answer, good deal. :)

Several updates here!
1. Most notably, the Dell 700m has been sold off and replaced with a black MacBook! 2.0GHz Core Duo, currently 1GB of RAM (going to 2GB soon), 80GB hard drive, dual-layer DVD burner. VERY nice machine, got a great deal on it…and now I am completely Mac (except for the server of course, that’s Linux).

2. Added gigabit ethernet. MUCH faster than the old 10/100. Also, I moved all the networking stuff (router, switch, etc), my USB hub, and all my charge/sync cables to the keyboard tray that I don’t use; you can see it under where the MacBook is placed on the desk. That cleaned up a lot of cable clutter on the desk.

3. Sold the Logitech S530 set and got an Apple Bluetooth keyboard and Logitech VX Revolution mouse.

My past workstation shots can be seen at http://rogersmj.com/tech/workstations.

Coming soon…a new custom built desk!

I'd also like to add, that this is one of my favorite setups in this thread. I absolutely love the multiple screens, the computers, and all the workspace. Oh, and I really liked the the desktop wallpaper on your Macbook, and so I kinda copied the idea myself. :p

mattcube64, do you need to keep posting pictures of your room?

This whole picture forum is basically boasting. He even admits it.

The last quote is seperate testimony. :p

Weaaak. I have 5 times this. I'll take a pic tomorrow.

Thank you! That's very kind. I always like seeing pictures of your room...I would have loved to have something like that in high school! My parents were pretty strict on "screen time" though, and it was a battle just to get them to allow me to build a computer to put in my room. TV? No way in hell. Video game system? Ha. Now, I spend my whole day in front of a screen anyway, so a lot of good that did. ;)

I do web site design/coding, among other things, so I need my screen space. I sometimes even feel the two 20" screens are too small, so one day I'll have a couple 24"-ers or maybe a 30" or two...if I can get it authorized by the boss (er, the wife, that is).

I too like the workspace afforded by that desk, which is why I chose it...however, it was only a $50 Staples desk and after 3 years it's not quite so sturdy anymore. In the next month I hope to be able to assemble a custom desk I've been designing. It will have at least as much space as this one and a few extra features to make it somewhat unique. I'll definitely post here when I finish it. I'm quite excited...I have a thing for desks. I've owned about 6 of them in the last 10 years.

You have 5 MacBooks and 10 ACDs?

I too was trying to think of some smart-ass remark to try to beat into people's heads that when there's more than a couple images in a post they should only quote the image(s) they're directly referencing!!! Especially when they're large! Holy crap people, is it REALLY that hard?

I should really just stop, otherwise I'll probably be preaching this until these forums are old and crusty.

I just had to do it :D :apple: But I agree, is it that hard deleting the pictures that one isn't referring to? But instead they insist on quoting ALL the images...-sighs- Maybe we should start a new "Post Your Mac Setup: Past & Present for those who know how to quote images correctly". I hope that title isn't too long :p

Thanks for the compliments. I'm lucky to have a mom that lets me spend my money, and my time, on what I like doing. She knows that like sports are to some kids, video games and "technology" are my own hobby, and she respects that. I have good grades, am pretty fit, and I'm plenty social, so I don't think she has too much to worry about. I work hard for my money, and while she doesn't agree with every purchase I make, she stands by me in getting what I want.

As for your desk obsession, I feel the same way. My room just doesn't accomodate a large desk. I still have college to attend, but when I finally have an apartment or a small house, the first thing I want to buy is a big, sturdy, solid, desk with A LOT of workspace. I constantly feel cramped in on my little $38 Walmart desk. I'd buy something nicer, I just don't have the room.

Right now, I just use two screens for making web browsing quicker and more enjoyable. But I'm pursuing a major in journalism, and advertising design. I'm sure I'll want more screen space when I'm working on multiple projects and assignments in both Photoshop and InDesign.

might as well show off mine

Heres another view of my office at home, nothing to brag about, but I've done some cleaning up!

24" iMac. To the left is a Hanns.g 19" wide screen and to the right a 15" dell monitor hooked up to a dell poweredge server running debian etch, which handles my mail, development databases and web stuff.

Awesome! 24s rock! That's sad that you have to put the monitor on a riser! That's one thing I hate about the ACDs; they didn't plan design corroboration.

I jiust uploaded pics to my gallery of two old Macs. I still have the original Macintosh, but the G4 I gave to my neice when I got my G5.

Room Changes

MattCube,
I think it would be cool if you switched up your room a bit...that way you could have the space to add a desk. It looks to me that the way you have everything positioned doesn't take full advantage of the space you have to work with.

Additionally,
I'd recommend selling your monitor and old TV for something like a 32in HDTV....that way you'd free up a ton of space and possibly be able to get a cozy chair or something in there instead of gaming on your bed.

Just my 2 cents
