Hi

How do you use a Cisco VoIP phone at home? is it connected to your own voice gateway or does your telco offer VoIP directly?

I don't know what exactly is up with his setup, but I had a Cisco VoIP phone for a little while at home that was configured to connect to our office's VoIP system. So it could just be something like that, or Vonage.

I have an Intertex IX68 router, this can connect any SIP phone directly to a regular line so it can be used as a normal phone.

And as the cisco phones have multiple lines i can use VoIP sevices as well, i have 3 Ciscos at my place, all connected to the router. its very reliable too.

Bye

Just to clear the air, Blakespot and myself are two different people.

I'm guessing Blake didn't realize I was logged in on his computer when he posted.

Wait a minute, blakespot = arn or arn = blakespot?
Oops. I only recently started using Safari again (Firefox mainly). Arn's login was still present in Safari on my MacBook Pro, which is the laptop that was used to work the live keynote coverage back at MWSF in Jan. :)

Here's my new basement setup, PowerMac G4 (in desk) with 17" Studio Display, and on the shelf, my old iMac G3 DV. The G4 Digital Audio (466MHz) cost me only $100. Granted, I've ungraded the hard drive, added 512 MB RAM, and reinstalled the OS, the cost for the upgrades was almost nil.

And, I've finally made use of my iMac G4's old Pro Speakers, seeing as the G4 tower has the same jack!

I'm looking to repaint the walls, and in the next few months, getting a new printer to replace that old one from 7 years ago. I do love the display... 1600 x 1200 resolution is amazing.

What do you use the G3 for?

What do you use the G3 for?

Before the G4 Tower came along, the G3 was my parents main unit for web surfing and games. It's actually a decent machine - 512MB RAM, 60GB hard drive, 450MHZ processor...But now, the G4 is faster, and the screen real estate of the ASD is a large advantage.

But right now he's (the G3) kinda just chillin' there.... Might actually sell it if I can detach myself from it, its served me well for the past 7 years.

Nice Samsung. I have a 19 inch one just like it.

I wouldn't want to be there when those shelves and everything piled on them come crashing down on that beautiful iMac.

They're pretty sturdy... or so my parents say...

The boxes are all empty, though, so they're not too heavy.

tasty

I'm thinking of getting an LCD arm for my cinema display....do you guys think I should get a white one or aluminum one?....a downside of my glass desk is not being able to get a desk mounting arm and instead having to get a wall mounted one....anyone got a link to a good wall mounting arm @ a decent price????

Okay, so its a mess, but it looks like i'm one of the few people here who use a mac for things other than Photoshop :p
Mid-way through a write-up for mah degree, hence the build up of literature and caffeine abuse...

Moving house in a few months, got a nice little office-space marked out. Trip to Ikea to pick up a more sensible sized desk, and hopefully the setup will fit in a bit better with the dominant aesthetic here :D
