I got fed up with the size of my old phones (smartphones like the treo 700, and blackberry 8703e) so I sold them and was in the market for a new phone. I was in your same predicament. I knew I wanted one of Verizon's high end phones but I didn't know which one. It was between the Krzr, the Chocolate, and the Samsung SCH-a990. I ultimately chose the krzr for a number of reasons. First and foremost was design. The is hands down the best looking phone- ever made. With metal, and quartz as the two main materials used, this phone is not only beautiful but is also durable. Second, and finally, I chose this phone because frankly, it offers everything the Chocolate has in a package that is hands down- MUCH better looking.buffalo said:Well I was able to compare the KRZR and Chocolate in person yesterday and I'm undecided. They seem to be about the same feature wise, is there anything one has that the other doesn't? Which should I get, or should I wait for the iPhone?

Honestly, I think PC Mag is just about as incompetent as cNet. Idiots. At any rate, the voice quality is very good (VERY good) and I do not see reception to be any different then that of my previous phones (v3m included)buffalo said:Thanks for the quick reply. I was just reading PC Magazine's review of the KRZR and found that the reception isn't as good as the RAZR's. How is the reception and voice quality?
[EDIT] Is there any compatibility with a Mac?

My FAVORITE phone of all time out now is the Motorola V3X. Maybe by late November/Early Dec. they'll have a CDMA version. All in all though, the krzr is number one.buffalo said:Thanks for the help you've provided. I was going to go to the Verizon Store tonight to get the phone, but my mom wants me to wait for my birthday at the end of November. Are there any other cool phones coming out soon?
Is that a joke? Motorola designed the Razr from the ground up and everyone copied them! Now they make a mini version of it and you're trying to say they copied someone? Do you not see that the Krzr is a mini version of Motorola's flagship clamshell- which at launch was totally unique?Sutekidane said:The KRZR is such a rip off of the LG KV2300.
appleintelrock said:I'm feeling the moto gui, but as far as color, and 3g go, vzw has em beat.
iMacZealot said:Although the GSM one does have 2.0MP...or does the vzw one have that?
But I like the blue better.
appleintelrock said:VZW is 1.3 MP, however, they do have streaming TV. I'm a photography nut so I don't really care what type of camera is on my phone. i'm a fan of the light black. the blue is a little feminine
Prom1 said:Moto's phone camera's are ALL crap in ANY setting compared to SE's 2.0MP with Auto Focus & LED & zoom.
> if you're a photo nut even 2.0MP will not be enough. you need a solution like SE's PURE OLED LED on the K790/800's + 3.2MP. Especially if you want quality photos.
> Moto did come out with the KRZR as a slim design of the RAZR; but in my opinion anyone buying it now is a fool. Paying top dollar WITHOUT any improvement over the standard, still no LED is just foolish. You need to think hard about purchasing it. In less than 6 months when Moto puts all the sales of the KRZR to an actual V series improvement next summer you'd be had.
> I think the Slider KRZR whatever its called is the best of the solutions. It has 2.0MP camera WITH LED flash. Either way these are just my opinions with my cellular phone experience.
PS. I should apply for the Marketing Lead position for the Apple iPhone. hmm.

Prom1 said:@iMacZealot, The SK3 is what my friends & I that used to work for Tmobile would call "The Ghetto BlackBerry". Its basically what it is. The support for very cool ringtones is what really keeps it going. If you want something more powerful, then I would suggest going for the BlackBerry Pearl 8100. But this coming Spring we'll all see much better phones. I advise towards ANY BB model over any SK. Why? Because its the ONLY phone that you can either UPGRADE/DOWNGRADE the firmware yourself WITHOUT voiding your warranty as its FULLY supported by RIM. Even PocketPCs like the HTC S620 cannot be downgraded after a firmware upgrade!

Here is a picture from the 1.8yr old K750i (same camera as in my W810)

> When Camera Phones get to 5MP (to the MASS public, not just limited to Korea elites), then we'll see better pics. Furthermore we may even see some hurting brands in the Digital Camera space partner with Cellular Manufacturers (Nokia+Carl Zeiss) for specific models. That is when you must ask yourself ... I really want that 5MP HP Camera, but SE/NOKIA/SAMSUNG/ETC (take you pic; pun intended) also makes a cellular phone with Canon (extensible lens just 3 types) for within $100 more. And I need a new camera. Hmm.![]()
